No they seem not to.  It's unlikely that you'll get a list of verified cards here.

All of the 15 or so SD cards I have around my house work fine (up to 4GB & with no reformatting needed)  but the class 10, SDHC 32GB cards I bought to specifically use with these units always showed this same error no mater what I reformated them with, and how many times!

I realised this may be a problem before I bought the cards, so chose a supplier who would accept returns.

@Read > Can you let me know what brand cards / formatting tools you used?  The engineers would like to try and replicate it.

Exchanged the Centon class10 32's for Patriot Memory LX series class10 32's. Worked Instantly.  :)

@Rossi > Thanks for the heads-up, I'll pass that info along to the engineers.

I wonder if it's just cheap media causing the problem?

Not sure.. The only 2 I've tried so far (32gb Specs).

I've just had the same issue with a KINGSTON 32GB SDHC Class 6 card (SD6/32GB-U) <<< Stay away from these!!!.  Very frustrated about this issue!!!

I have just ordered (2) 32GB Patriot Memory LX series Class10 cards from AMAZON.  I cannot afford to have a non-working SD card during an event!!!

PS Thank you for the heads-up on the Patriot SD C10 Cards!!! Cheers to Rossi

.........

Dear Talented "Pioneer DJ" Techs,

Please try to have a list of working SDHC Cards that you have tested and that you can highly recommend!!!

I have just given my 5 cents by providing feedback about the NON-Working KINGSTON 32GB SDHC Class 6 card (SD6/32GB-U) <<< Tell everyone to stay away from these SD CARDS!!!.

It took me hours to get 30GBs of data on this card to later realize that it is not compatible with the CDJ-2000 mothership. Ahhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!

Regards,

DJ Will N.

@ Will > We don't have a list of "compatible" hardware, but I'll certainly add it to a note that the Kingston 32GB Class 6 cards are problematic.

DJ Pulse,

As you had mentioned on a different Forum, you are correct about formatting SD Cards to the "Fat" format!  Also, Kingston 32GB Class 6 cards are NOT problematic once formatted to "FAT".   All SD cards will be problematic if formatted under "Mac OS Extended Journaled" (HUGE NO! NO!)

Here are some very juicy instructions on how to get SD cards ready to Rock with Rekordbox!!!

Instructions on how to format/ prepare your SD Cards for Rekordbox (CDJ2000/ CDJ900 "Mac OS X" users):

  1. Insert SD Card
  2. Once the card is displayed on your Mac OS X desktop, go to the "Utilities" folder and click on "Disk Utility"
  3. Once the Disk Utility window opens... Your SD Card should be displayed next to your Hard Drive or any other drives that you may have mounted
  4. Select your SD Card, then select the "Erase" tab
  5. For the "Format" field drop down list, select MS-DOS (FAT) >>> Notice that this does not say "Fat32" (You will see... MS-DOS (FAT32) ... later, under the "Get Info" menu
  6. Then under the "Name" field go ahead and give your SD Card an easy to recognize cool name (Keep it short)
  7. Click on the "Erase" button (Positioned somewhere below the "Name" field, usually found next to the "Security Options..." button)
  8. You will get a prompt that asks... Are you sure you want to erase the partition "SDCARDNAME"?
  9. Click "Erase" (Yes, all data on the SD card will be erased)
  10. BOILA!!! Your SD Card is now ready for the ALMIGHTY REKORDBOX application!!!

Additional Comments:

  • The Bridge application is by far one of the best features of Rekordbox (A total Blessing for iTunes users!!!)
  • Pioneer DJ needs to launch detailed training videos on how to get the most out or Rekordbox! in return, Serato users will be more likely to Use/ Try Rekordbox if they understand the product at the most basic level.  Rekordbox is full of possibilities when used with the right Rekordbox compatible Pioneer Gear.

  • WE NEED REKORDBOX training Videos!!!

  •  WE NEED REKORDBOX training Videos!!!

  •  WE NEED REKORDBOX training Videos!!!...

SD Cards that I've been able to use successfully:

  • Kingston 32GB 133x C6 (SD6/32GB-U)  <<<NOTE: I had said on a earlier post that this card did not work, I was wrong... Someone had misinformed me and the world on a post that says to format SD cards under "Mac OS Extended Journaled" instead of MS-DOS (FAT).   MS-DOS (FAT)  A.K.A. MS-DOS (FAT32) WORKS 100%!!!
  •  Patriot 32GB LX Series C10 (PSF32GSDHC10) >>>  MS-DOS (FAT)  A.K.A. MS-DOS (FAT32) WORKS 100%!!!

Happy CDJ/ SD-Mixing and Enjoy!!!

Before I bought my CDJs I asked on this board what USB stick are compatible and Patriot along with about 5 others.  Rated on how fast they were. There is a review thread on them someplace. It was posted by a moderator if I remember correctly.  I use a single 32gb Patriot Bolt with WAV/MP3's gathered from many sources. Haven't had one freeze up or issue yet.

Hello, hope all of you are doing well.

Two questions Does anyone know if the CDJ 2000 have any compatibility problems with Sandisk Extreme SDHC cards ?

Also does it matter the data through put of the SD cards. Does the CDJ 2000 stream the music off the media card itself or does it load it into the player's memory. I asked a couple of dj and no one could explain the process for me. I just want to make sure i'm not over spending on high data throughput cards if it not going to really improve the performance.  Thanks in advance for your guidance.     Best Regards   DJ Paradise N.Y / Miami

Beware of cheap cards on fleabay!

After several duff cards, I bought a pair of 32GB integral ultima pro cards and these worked first time.

I say the cards where duff as in they worked on my laptop but the CDJ-2000 would not recognise them, I got the same message to format the cards.

If you want to check the card is functioning correctly use a program called x-bench to validate the card read/write speeds (Mac OS)

N1ck76 - Did you format them on your Laptop to FAT32? There are as stated by the moderator utils that will do this.

I have just purchased 2 x verbatim 16gb class 10 sd cards and they are not recognised by the players,

I have double formatted with the recommended tools in the data thread hp usb tool (using usb card reader) and fat 32 format.

on putting the cards in the cdj2000's it just reads no card.

@ movingzachb - I tried formatting the Transcend cards with both disk utility (Mac) & SD Formatter (Windows) prior to using them with rekordbox.

Both cards would hold the rekordbox data, the CDJ-2000's wouldn't recognise the cards.

I have various other SD cards which work fine with the players, just happened to be the ones I ordered cheap on a particular auction site that wouldn't.

I am not sure if there is a Windows equivalent to X-Bench but anyone who is having problems getting there CDJ's to recognise the card should try and validate the card on a friends Mac.

I wouldn't even thought about testing an SD card until one of the IT bods at work told me they just had a load of server HDD's fail and they use the software to test for disk errors, which also happens to test flash based devices.

I can also confirm that the Kingston SD Cards Class 10 Ultimate X 100x work fine.

Hey all. Having some annoying issue's with my SD cards. I orginally had some Secure Digital 32gb SDHC cards which I tried to use in the players but the did not work. I have formatted them to fat32 and no luck. Upgraded the players to 4.01 and still no luck. So then I bought some 32gb Integral Pro cards based on the suggestion in the above comments. These didn't work either, I formatted these to Fat 32gb, still no luck.

Then I tried something else! I plugged a very basic sd card reader into the usb port and hey presto, both sets of cards work!

So, any ideas as why my CDJ2000's are misbehaving? I have had the pair since they were realesed and have only just got round to putting my entire collection onto SD cards.

The USB SD card reader is a temp fix but I will eventually need all of my media ports working....

Thanks for the reply. At this stage I have not found any sd cards that work including various 4th either. It's really frustrating.... It's look like a return at this stage however I'm not sure if they are under warranty now :-(

I Just purchased an SD card: 32gb Duracell classe 10 pro photo 200x. I formatted it to FAT32 and it is not working... I previously had a 1gb SD card and it worked without having to format. Any suggestions on how to get it to work? Thx

I've downloaded an SD formatter at: www.sdcard.org I'm now doing a full reformat Erase and overwrite all. It will take a long time to reformat this way. I will report back once the format is completed and tested on the CDJ2000.

Guys, I know its a simple one but can we make sure we close the lid to the SD Slot as i know some have written cards off without even closing the lids,

FYI, i used the sdcard formatter and used a quick format in the software and now my Verbatim 16gb Class 10 cards are working in my 2ks :)

They have sat on the side for a few months but as it is Christmas i have taken the time to work on them and get them going :)

Thanks Salvi :)

I ran out of luck, I reformatted with utility software at sdcard.org, and it did not work for me. I've tried everything that  I can think of.  Any suggestions?

I bought a coupleof Kingston 8GB and could not get them to read. Formatted them in Windows 7 64Bit several times. Then I closed the SD Card slot lid (as suggested by Pionix) and voila, all good. Working like a charm.
