Hi, just an idea of improvement for the master tempo. I don't mix in key and I don't use master tempo cause of distortion, but it would be great if the master tempo just lock the pitch of the sound when you manipulate the platter. When you modify the tempo with the pitch, your sound is modified like the master tempo is off but if you correct the sync with the platter, the pitch is locked so you can't hear the manipulations.
I hope it's clear, sorry for my poor english.

Master tempo is not usable unless you mix tracks very quickly. For longer mixes, it causes errors in the beatmatching alignment which are unacceptable.
Even when I use Ableton Live, I don't use the Complex warping mode... and it is 10 times better than the Pioneer master tempo.
I know that the actual master tempo is useless. I was thinking to a new sort of MT who is actif only when you turn the platter. When you modify the speed of the track with the pitch slider, it acts like MT off ( the pitch of the music is modified) but when you adjust the sync of the track with the jog, the MT is correcting the pitch. I don't know if it's clear.But I can explain in french for those who want.

Let's say you're playing at +3% with this "active MT" mode engaged; as soon as you touched the jog, the pitch would have to be locked at +3%, not 0%, which is what MT does. If it were to snap the pitch to 0% when you move the jog, you'd hear the pitch jumping 3%, which would not sound that pleasing at all. If the system were to keep the pitch wherever you had set the pitch slider, the calculations would likely be a bit more complex.
Either way, I'll pass it to the engineers for future consideration.
Exactly what Pulse said. It is interesting, but I wasn't 100% sure how to articulate the potential technical issues involved.
@Pulse: Yes Pulse,the idea is when your pitch is to +3%, the MT is not actif, but when you move your jog, the MT become actif and stabilize your sound at +3%.
I don't know if it is really difficult to calculate the compensation of the MT, but it would be a nice option, for people like me who never use MT cause sound is better with MT off (few distortions) and I use to mix for years on SL1200 with no MT at all, and it was not a problem.
@galipao > I don't think that's the point, far enough with turntables key lock/master tempo was not a mass feature back then. If denon can get it right why can't pioneer? It's a fantastic feature which in some cases can stop the singing chipmunk effect
Master Tempo is great for being able to properly mix in key.
@Marsano - Pioneeer DID have it right in the CDJ-1000 MK3. For some reason though the standard was lost in the new generation of players.
@Marsanao: I don't say that Pioneer don't have to improve the MT, I was just saying that it would be an interesting feature for those who don't use MT, to have an option for a MT actif only when you manipulate the Jog. This option could be activated in the menus. The MT button on the deck would have the same function (On/Off). When MT is On, this option is naturally by-passed but when MT is off, your setup in the menus determine if the jog modify the ton of the track or not.
