XDJ-aero or DDJ-Sx ????

After taking a 5 year break from djing I'm after getting back into it, A lots changed in the time I've been away :-)) I sold my cdj1000 mk3's and djm600 , but kept my sl1210's , as I've still got 1000's of my old vinyl I started djing in 1990 I've been a resident dj at a few clubs during the 90's My problem is space (lack of :-)) So the controller looks my best bet I know the sx isn't out yet ,but it looks like an upgrade to the S1-T1 I'm new to digital djing with a laptop Anyone had both type controllers Any pros / cons Any help much appreciated Cheers Mark :-))

The main question you should focus on is whether or not you want to work with a laptop. The DDJ-SX is a great tool, but needs a laptop for it's software whereas the Aero works stand-alone. I have the 'old' T1, but I don't mind taking a laptop with me everywhere.

Other questions are, why would you want Serato? Do you know what it's capable of? If not, go and figure that out. It should make your choice a lot easier!

Good luck!

I was in a similar situation as you. I wanted to keep turntables and I have choosen XDJ Aero as it has built in hardware effects so you can you it's mixer and add effects. You can't do it with DDJ SX unless filters are enough for you. As Stef said, you can use XDJ as a standalone unit what is great! Sometimes I sit on my sofa and practise deejaying. When I go to a club I take my XDJ Aero, external disc and that's it! No need to carry laptop or CDs.

Sometimes I use iPhone to search music in my external hard drive disc and load it from there. If you have iPad that's even better setup. You can also use XDJ to control Traktor or Serato (in the future).

If you want to switch only to dj software like Serato or Traktor than go with DDJ SX as it has much more functions like hot cues, 4 channels.

I prefer working with a laptop instead of wasting my eyes on a small screen and it doesnt take that much space.... Way lot easier for searching in your playlist. For the effect... There's many include with the software + filter right on the controler. And an other advantage for you is that you can use de DDJ-SX as an external mixer so you can plug your Sl1210 right in your controler. You can input whatever you want in each channel and you got XLR output
