(XDJ-RX) How do I prevent the player from autoplaying when a song loads or when a cue point button is hit? The setting in MENU doesn't change anything.

There seems to also be a noticeable lag when hitting the cue points sometimes... will take a half a second to a full second to put the track to the CUE point that is called. I'm on the latest firmware (1.5)

If you have the quantize enabled, that's why that happens.

How can I have quantize enabled and not have it autoplay?

When quantize mode is off, it doesn't autoplay on load automatically, but it still autoplays when I hit a cue point.

Now playing in and out of quantize mode, it seems to be completely random whether or not a song autoplays on load. Very frustrating. Neither mode produces consistent behavior.

Sorry, you posted one question in the subject line and another in the post itself...

To prevent the song from playing when you load a track, enable auto cue by pressing and holding the auto cue button - you'll see A.CUE appear in the display. The menu setting you're talking about is basically whether the track is a single play or continuous, that's independent of the auto cue.

Having quantize enabled is what is making the hot cues not fire instantly - they will launch on-beat with the grid. If you disable the quantize, hot cues will trigger whenever you hit the button.

Thank you for the auto cue solution.

As far as the cue points autoplay though, i'm not talking about firing instantly. I understand quantitze mode will force them on beat.

My concern is that when I hit B to move to a drop in a song, simply to move to that part in the track, the track begins playing from B. Is there not a way to move to B without B automatically playing?

no there is not unless you keep your hand on the platter and hit B, then when you let go it will play, I know that can be done on the 2000's

As @BriChi says - hot cues will play when they are triggered. If you want the player to stop, you have to hit the play/pause button immediately after pressing the hot cue button.

Is there a setting that can be implemented to control hot cue behavior? It makes sense to me for the song to autoplay when hitting the hot cue when it's automatically playing, but not if the song is not currently playing. This would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry, that is not an available feature at this time due to cross-product uniformity of the hot cue operation.

I'll give you the same answer I just posted to the other question regarding the >> seek buttons; because it's uniformity and DJs moving from product to product expect features to perform a certain way. If it were changed, more users would complain. Sorry!

I have always felt that Pioneer should add this as a preference for the user too.    I would rather it not auto play when the player was on Pause and you just want to switch to a different Hot Cue and then press the CUE button to move the CUE to that point.  that way when you press play or stutter with the CUE button you know exactly where it is.  however - holding down the platter(if in vinyl mode) and pressing the hot cue does work ok but I feel its an extra step for something so simple.    I also own a Numark NS7 with Serato and thats one of the features it has that I love!   BUT for the record I like the XDJ-RX the most. :)

Also now that I think of it..... Recordbox by its self does act this way, so shouldn't the Pioneer players kinda be the same as Rekorbox? seems like pretty much every other control does act the same in Rekordbox as it does on a Pio player............. sup wit dat?
