XDJ-RX continuous play back problem

After ripping a mixed CD in wav format I have found that tracks will play in continuous play back mode but with GAPS inserted between all tracks. All the same tracks on the same usb stick played with either pioneer 850 1000 or 2000 play continuous play back with no GAPS!.
Issue is either related to hardware or software? please investigate and resolve this ussue as this would not Constitute a continuous play back mode! and doesn't help for a ripped cd that is mixed that you would like to play as individual tracks in continuous play back mode.

The XDJ-RX is not capable of playing back tracks without a small gap between them as it takes time to buffer the following song. The CDJ models you mention are capable of doing so, but the RX is not. Sorry!

Do you have any news? I would like this problem resolved!

I have tried various setting without success, I have heard nothing from support. No one has contacted me !

I need to be able to RIP a mixed CD with individual tracks and have the function for continuous playback WITHOUT GAPS inserted during playback for track after track!

Some of my recorded work has been separated out into individual tracks which need to be able to be continuously played without these gaps other wise mixes are useless.

I can play continuous tracks in the CDJ-2000, 1000, 900, and 850, etc so why not the XDJ-RX!

Not even; less than a fraction of a second, but enough that you can recognize a continuous mix had a gap between tracks.

The gap between the time from track to track is approx 0.5 seconds to 1 seconds....it is almost as if it is adding this time to the end of the track. Or its taking time to change to the next track.

@Steve > Have you verified that the track(s) you are trying to play in continuous mode don't have extra blank audio at the end? If you have ripped them from a CD, some software will automatically tack on up to 2s.

Yes, I have verified. The same USB stick used on any other player in the pioneer range works fine. No gaps inserted. I can use either pioneer 850 1000 or 2000 play continuous play back with no GAPS! using the same USB. No problems using these players at all.

Even when I use the same USB in a media player..it plays fine...lol

The problem is with the XDJ-RX.

All tracks are as WAV files to be sure of no problems as well.

I have checked all files even though they play fine in other player with Sound forge and made sure just in case I missed something but files are fine.

Very Very frustrating I have spent a lot of time on this.

As I noted in the official comment, the problem you're encountering is the amount of time required for the RX to buffer the next track. Other players have faster memory and are capable of advance-buffering that track, but the RX will have a noticeable gap. In my testing it was never 0.5-1s, more like a tiny blip in the audio, but I believe I was testing with MP3s which buffer quicker than WAV files.

I understand you're frustrated with this particular performance issue however there is no update that can address it to improve the playback. Sorry!

To sell a product saying it has continuous play back mode is then incorrect and miss-leading

This issue needs to be resolved as this would not Constitute a continuous play back mode! as the product states

I cannot understand why pioneer would go backwards or not have a continuous playback mode on a new product which clearly works with other player in there product range.

Again very unhappy ! Problem needs fixing....I now know 3 other DJ's using this product and they are unhappy to as just as I am. I'm sure it wont be long before others come with the same problem it cannot be ignored.

To say a tiny blip doesn't make the problem go away.

You clearly have a gap which can be heard. The RX's whole concept is build around digital files and networking .MP3, AAC, WAV, AIFF technology don't tell me that this tech is slower than older products within the pioneer range and cannot buffer quickly enough to the next track....if that's the case why the hell haven't pioneer resolved it!

@Steve > It DOES have continuous playback -- it's simply not SEAMLESS continuous playback.

Hi,

I have been reading this topic with interest. I to have found this an issue. If I'd known that the 'continuous playback' wasn't in fact continuous I'd have been unlikely to buy this unit. I spent good money on my XDJ-RX and find your comment above wholly dismissive, unnecessary and unhelpful. I can't believe that you have official sanction to post such nonsense... You do understand I hope that 'continuous' means 'continuous' i.e. uninterrupted, unbroken, constant. If you think it is ok to add 'simply not seamless' to the equation then maybe the tagline for the Pioneer XDJ-RX should be 'Simply Not Seamless Continuous Playback'' which would then offer us the chance to make a decision about buying the product on that basis. My personal decision would have been no.

@Ian > The memory of the XDJ-RX is limited in such that it can not play two tracks without a gap between while the memory buffer is filled. It does offer "continuous playback" as a function; you don't need to attend to the player in order for one track to follow the previous.

I'm sorry if this was not clear in the documentation, sales information or other marketing materials, however it was not intentionally omitted that the playback is "gapless" or "seamless" between tracks, and there was no intent to mislead the user as to the performance of this function.

I have had this issue from day one and have been trying to get a resolution to the problem ever since I purchased the product. I am now under the strong impression pioneer really don't care about the issue at all.

How do I go about getting a refund for the product?

@Steve > It's not that Pioneer don't care about this, but rather that the RX is a piece of DJ gear - for DJs to use. Yes, there are DJs who will put on a playlist and have that running, but for the price of the hardware, the XDJ-RX is only capable of so much -- and gapless playback is not one of those functions, it is a limitation of the hardware.

As previously posted, I'm sorry if this was not clear in the documentation, sales information or other marketing materials, however it was not intentionally omitted that the playback is "gapless" or "seamless" between tracks, and there was no intent to mislead the user as to the performance of this function.

If the lack of the ability of the XDJ-RX to seamlessly play back tracks continuously doesn't allow you to do your job as a DJ, then I'm sorry that this isn't the right piece of equipment for you.

If you are looking for a refund, please contact the retailer from whom you purchased the product.
