
I should call it sizzling not static.
I can hear a little bit of static when I switch to mono but otherwise the sound is pretty much completely gone. I bought them over 2 years ago. Can I send them in for repair? How does one start such an inquiry? I didn't use them for over a year and they were fine last time around. Then I take them back out only to see that they are completely dysfunctional. I have to imagine there's something wrong in the cup (not the cable) since the mono switch brings back SOME noise but it can't be user behavior, has to be something related to a manufacturing defect since I wasn't even using them. Help would be much appreciated.

sorry to bug people, I replaced the cord and it worked like a charm. case dismissed.
