BPM is off XDJ RX

I have the XDJ RX for about a month now. Today I noticed the following: I beatmatch two tracks perfectly with different BPM by hand. But after a while the BPM will go off, even thought the display shows exact the same BPM for both tracks. Very annoying off course because the tracks are slightly off beat when transferring.

I use Rekordbox and analyzing the tracks in normal mode.

Hey. Same problem here. When I loop, the beat drifts away. In panic I push sync, but nothing happens. I'll have to adjust a litte bit all the time.

Anyone?

I have noticed this sometimes as well... though I just use the jog wheel to keep it all in line (thats what a jog wheel/ platter was invented for...) not all songs are 100% mathematically perfect so you should expect it to happen but very slightly.... Unless your playing "older" music that was made back when they used real drummers in the recordings because then you definitely should expect it to go off a lot!!

However!! I can say that with the XDJ-RX there has been some times that while mixing two tracks and they are perfectly in sync(manually) and then all of a sudden go off by them selves! I've definitely had this happen but typically its not all that bad I just adjust with the jog wheel...

for the record though if your BPM has been calculated wrong even by the tiniest little amount then simply moving the pitch so that they both match up BPM wise does not mean they will mix properly! you have to use your ears. pressing sync in that case also would not help you any. Also the same goes if the beat grid is off - especially if you use sync!... Sync has no clue if its actually syncing anything.. It just lines up the beat grid's but if the beat grid is not 100% perfectly in line with the actual beats of the song then its totally useless.....

I would like to aks Pioneer to pay attention to this issue. Still the BPM goes of after I beatmatch two tracks by hand/ear. The display shows that both tracks have the same BPM after beatmatching. But in reality they are not lined up after a short while. This does not happen when I play two tracks with the same BPM. Than they stay perfectly in line.

In Virtaul DJ this does not happen. So the tracks are OK. I am a trance DJ, so the tracks are constant. I analyse the tracks in normal mode.

Before the latest updates of Rekord and the RX this problem dit not occur so I am quit sure that this is an (annoying) software problem. Are more people having this problem? At last I would please ask Poineer te reply.

Just come across this. I'm having the same issue, especially when using sync. It's as if the RX is reading the BPM wrong of one of the tracks. Both will say the same BPM but you can tell one is way off. Reloading the track or messing around with the tempo slider sometimes helps. Tracks will just skip one beat ahead sometimes when using sync. Not trying to stir but never had issues like this in Traktor \ VDJ.

@Arjen & @Jono > What is the filetype of the tracks which have an issue and what version of rekordbox did you use to export?

@ Pulse: Thx for your reply. I'm using mp3 files and Rekordbox 3.3.0.

Some additional information: in rekordbox the tracks sync perfectly en do not go out of sync.

@Pulse: it happens with all the tracks, but only if they have different BPM. After beatmatching, by hand or using sync, the beat will go off after a short while.

@Pulse, with the master tempo on both decks disabled it seems that the tracks stay in sync much better. Thx for your help!

@Arjen > Thanks for the info - it doesn't exactly solve the issue, but I'm glad to hear it was better. Can you tell me if those tracks were analysed in dynamic or normal mode within rekordbox? You can check this under the Preferences > Analysis > Track Analysis. If it was set to Dynamic and the beat of the track is consistent (think electronic percussion; perfect rhythm), the beat grid will have some issues. Change it to Normal and then re-analyse a few sample tracks which have consistent tempo. Use Dynamic only to analyse tracks which have a live drummer with a wandering, imperfect, beat.

@Pulse, I analyse the tracks in normal mode. The preference is set on "normal"

One more question before I send the info to the engineers - does the same thing happen when you use the SYNC mode?

Any updates on this issue? Experiencing the same problems.

Interesting facts: same tracks play in sync (bot 'on ears' as with the sync-buttons) on CDJ NX2.

Hello,

When I beatmatch 2 tracks, both play at 128 bpm it works.

I have the pioneer xdj rx

I have the newest version of the firmware 2.20

track 1: 130.0 bpm

track2: 128.0 bpm

Set the pitch to the same 128.0 bpm and beatmatch them, but after that I constantly need to correct.. yes I know about the decimal pitch problem but that's not the problem. I have to correct (syncing) the track all the time.

I don't use sync, tried it and yes sync does the work, but when I want to do the same thing with the pitch something doesn't work.

Please can someone help me?

I called the company where I bought the pioneer xdj rx but they don't even now it..

looking forward to see some reactions and help!

It would help me a lot!!!

Best regards,
Thiemo

Good Morning. See if you can help me. I'm with the same problem my beat grid is sliding relative to the other Deck even with Quantize and Sync on. Without them, the situation worsens. I've tried to do everything I could. I updated Firmware 2.20 and I use Rekordbox 4.2.5 and the problem persists. I have analyzed the songs in Rekordbox in every way possible. Normal mode, dynamic mode, etc. Nothing works. Can someone tell me how and when to solve the BUG ??? Thanks in advance for your help and attention.

I realise this thread is old af but I have had the XDJ-RX for 18 months and this has just started happening to me out of no where. I never use sync to mix but when mixing every track they will slowly run out of sync. I've been mixing for years and rarely had this happen, but all the time now!?

@BMezario > While they sound out of sync, are the beatgrids showing in sync on the screen? Or is it that you have the BPM matched and then the audio drifts out of alignment? Or are you leaving the two tracks in sync for a while and then all of a sudden they come out of alignment and stay at that difference in sync and continue?

Like a previous reply mine seems to be caused by the master tempo being ON. I normally play with the master tempo on, but now I have turned it off, the problem seems to have gone. Any ideas???

I know it's not exactly on topic, but I have the same issue with my DDJ-RX! Started new topics here, replied to old topics, contacted Pioneer Belgium. But all they can say is that I can bring my controller to their official repair company in another country! (i live in Belgium, and I should take it to the Netherlands)

I found similar posts on this forum with the exact same problem! But all I can do is sit and  cry! Oh how I miss my old DDJ-T2 and my Traktor Pro...

By the way, if I use a mapping for Traktor for my DDJ-RX (I found 1 on the internet), then everything is OK!!! So i don't think its a hardware problem, but the problem is Rekordbox itself. (and yes, I always update immediately!)
