ddj sz mapped to Traktor

Hi,

Hoping some one can help as I'm pretty new to all this stuff. I've current got a Pioneer ddj sz and up until today I've been using Serato as my digital software. I decided I wanted to try the Traktor software knowing the ddj sz was capable. I have updated the controller and Traktor to the latest software and download the latest mapping file from the pioneer site. I have installed all as pre guildlines/ instruction which seemed to go well until I tried using the track decks. The problem I have is there is only sound coming from one channel for both track decks? I have turntables contacted to the other two channels which are fine. I've opened settings in Traktor to check audio output etc but all seems fine. Any changes I do make have no effect at all.

What am I doing wrong guys ? I've spent the last 5 hours on it :(

Any help would be much appreciated

I think it put it as "pending approval" because the system thinks it's spam. I can see them even if they're not public.

The problem is you're running a 64bit application with 32bit drivers. Follow the instructions here to resolve the issue.

Link a screen capture of your audio settings from Traktor - both the Audio Setup and Output Routing pages please.

Thanks for the reply it's much appreciated. I did try and changing the setting to 32bit prior to contacting you but obviously it seems I have done some thing wrong. How did you realise this was the issue? Just so I know what changes to look out for when trying again.

Again thanks for your time in thus matter, and sorry for my delay I'm currently working 12 hour shifts

@Dene > The SZ soundcard showing as "WASAPI" was the give-away; in 64bit mode, it defaults to that driver, but in 32bit mode, the ASIO drivers are used.

Sorry for getting back in touch late only just had time off work to sort this problem. Thanks for the advice the issue has now been resolved :)

I have one more problem then I will leave you alone lol. How can I record my mixes within traktor while using the DDJ SZ connected to turntables? I have used traktor in the past while connected to a traktor Midi controller (S4) But as for the DDJ SZ I cant seem to work it out.

Any help would be much appreciated. I finally have few days off to mix

If you record it internally, there's no problem. Assign the recording output from the SZ to one of the decks within Traktor.

Not sure I understand. The recording output from the sz? Can all this be done withing traktor preferences? At the moment I can record the digital decks 1 & 2 on the sz , but the turntables have no response on the recording meter? Sorry for my lack of understanding

@dene > How do you have the audio routing configured for the SZ device settings (driver preferences) and the Traktor audio config?

Are you asking for the input and output routing setting found in traktor preferences?

I currently have 1 x ddj sz connected to my laptop via usb cable. 1 x JBL monitors conntected to the matser output via xlr cables. 2x turntables connected to each phone ports 3 & 4

Perfect! Okay, so you already have USB 9/10 assigned to the recording output, go to the Mix Recorder page in the Traktor settings and assign the SZ 9/10 inputs as the External Input source for recording.

Presto pango.

Thanks for the reply.

If I go to the 'Mix Recorder' page within Traktor preferences, then select 'External input' it only gives me the following option to choose from;

Input deck A
Input deck B
Input deck C
Input deck D
Input FX send (ext)

What you can do is assign the inputs for deck D to the SZ 9/10, then choose deck D as the recording source.

Ok I assigned input for deck D to 9/10 , then selected D on the recording settings which resulted in a massive buzz sound increasing in volume by the second? sounded like my speakers were going to explode lol. Any ideas?

With the above settings as soon as I use the phono channels for my vinyl turntables i.e. increase the volume the load buzz starts.

is it actually possible to record a mix with the vinyl turntables? is there 2 separate sound cards within the sz? one for software and another of analog? Like I say i can record the 2 digital channels but not all 4? surely you can mix on all 4 channels and record at the same time?
