@Jed > I'm running the same setup and having the same problem updating the driver. However, I'm not having any issues with Serato DJ. I will bring this to the attention of the engineering team and keep you posted with any updates.
I'm running OSX El Cap 10.11.3 and firmware 1.06, when I run the installer for driver 1.1.2. it seems to work but the S9 setup utility shows driver version 1.1.0. as being installed.
I'm having problems with Serato DJ so would like to be sure I have the current drivers to help with my support ticket!
Anyone else experiencing this?

Thanks Mark issues may be unconnected just need to rule that out if poss
Has there been any update here? I'm having the same issues.
Hello all,
Don't worry.
Even though you saw a different version number in the setting utility, the driver has been successfully updated.
The number you saw is a version number mainly to be used internally.
Sorry for the confusion.

Wish I were posting a solution, but, unfortunately, I'm adding to the complain line.
I just unboxed the DJM S9, and I'm experiencing the same issue, in addition to it crashing my MacBook a few times, whenever I unplug it from Serato and replug it, it's not connecting. I have to restart the MacBook each time. That's when the computer crashes during the reboot.
My mac is a 2 month old 2016 touchpad with 2.7GHZ, & 16GB memory. Prior to DJM S9, the computer had no issues -ever. It has crashed about four times since I've been trying to connect this mixer.
My driver version says 1.1.0, and despite repeat tries of uninstalling old and installing new 1.1.2 driver, it still shows 1.1.0.
Then I see this post with this person here from Pioneer saying don't worry about the guy sitting in a police car wearing a cop uniform and holding a gun. He just looks like a cop!!!! Really dood!!!! The driver version we see is not whats really there??
Would it be asking a lot to reverse that in theory and practice???
Can Pioneer please help with this issue.
I cracked on my friends when they had rane mixers on their pioneer rigs. Guess the joke is on me now. I'm two steps away from sending this thing back, getting a rane, and returning to normalcy.....
Did my last two gigs on a controller when I have 5k worth of new CDJ's and Mixer just sitting here?
HELP!!
@Kevin > As noted on the DJM-S9 support page, the version numbers for the 1.1.2 drivers will display as:
I would recommend running the driver uninstaller, rebooting, ensuring that all system patches and updates are installed, then reinstall the drivers (without connecting the mixer), reboot again, then try and see if it works. If it still has crashes, please tell me at what point the crash occurred and if a crash log was generated.
