Yeah, that's perfectly normal. It's called "stutter-cue" and it's from before CDJs had vinyl mode!

Play/Pause stutter
I'm new to using CDJs. I just got the 2000 NXS2. Is there a way to disable the stutter when I hit "Pause"? It is INCREDIBLY annoying

When you change the "Jog Mode" from CDJ to VINYL mode, then you hear no stutter effect when you hit "pauze".
