Puzzled and extremely disappointed in Pioneer

Recently I purchased a pair of Pioneer CDJ 2000NX2 4300.00 as an upgrade and I still own the original CDJ 2000s and Nexus versions. Im extremely disappointed that HID mode on the NX2 doesnt work with traktor and if you want to use this feature you have to purchase RekordBox DJ for HID REALLY. Now Pioneer releases controllers and the rekorbox software is free for the DDJ-RZ and a few other controller starting at the list price below. AGAIN I PAID 4300.00 NO LICENSE. THESE DECKS pretty much a TWO bricks sitting my set up. I GUARANTEE, THIS WILL BE MY LAST PIONEER PURCHASE AND I WILL DISCOURAGE OTHERS TO LOOK ELSE WERE. TOTAL FAIL, JUST HORRIBLE!

List Price: $2,399.00
Selling Price:
$1,997.00
  • REKORDBOX DJ

You get a free rekordbox dj licence key bundled with this controller. Simply activate your licence key, connect the controller and start DJing.

  • REKORDBOX DVS

You also get a free licence key for rekordbox dvs bundled with this controller for highly responsive scratch control with music from your rekordbox library. Did you buy your DDJ-RZ before March 2016? Get the licence key free of charge here

@Tony > Sorry, but as others have noted, no previous Pioneer DJ product was released with HID support for a competitor's software product out-of-the-box. It was only after some time that each product was supported by other software. With the CDJ-2000NXS2, it was never advertised or marketed that there was, or would be, integration with competitor's software, although since release we have said that we're in negotiation with those manufacturers to provide integration in future.

Regarding rekordbox, the reason the RZ has a license for rekordbox and the CDJ does not is that the CDJ is intended as a stand-alone product whereas the RZ is a controller for software. Without the software, it's effectively just a mixer. rekordbox is still FREE to use with a CDJ and you can use the ethernet link to communicate with the players, providing nearly the same functionality through that connection as if you were using rekordbox in performance mode, since the CDJs are still our top-level product.

don't blame pioneer for the lack of hid Support from other sw vendors... no Software expect rb dj has hid Support for the nxs2 yet.

do you remember how Long it took till Traktor and serato added hid Support for the nxs? it took over a year ;-)

and even if they are hid supported by Traktor/Serato/whatever.... you have NO Advantages compared to hid supported nxs. ok they have a touch Screen and one more hotcue button...but thats all - if you use them in hid mode.

I'm assuming you knew this ahead of time before purchasing them. Pioneer is pretty clear about what comes with their devices. I'm a little puzzled too. You just dropped 4 grand and you're going to complain about $130? To each his own.

CDJ units work immediately out of the box and controllers do not. Controllers are made specifically for rekordbox dj and other dj software. CDJ's are not. It makes sense for them to bundle rekordbox dj with a controller.

Would it be nice to include rekordbox dj? Sure. But I don't see how you can write off purchasing another pioneer product because of it.

The other CDJ2000's didn't have HID support this early either... HID support is definitely NOT PIONEERS FAULT!! Pioneer are on point with their own products, but can't control when Native Instuments, Serato, or anyone else release software.  If you're spending that kinda money without doing your research that's your fault
