XDJ-RX: prepared cue loop points in Rekordbox not showing up in controller

Hi there,

for a playlist of about 40 tracks I've prepared some "Hot Cue Loop Points" within Rekordbox (named and stored it to Hot Cue button "A") and exported it via USB-stick to the XDJ-RX.

Selecting the first track of the playlist the prepared cue loop shows up...Hot Cue A is high lighted, when pressing it the loop starts to play as expected.

When loading the next track or any other track than track 1  the prepared cue loops don't show up any more ... nothing in the Hot Cue section is highlighted, and no loop information can be found in the tracks.

Going back to Rekordbox on the desktop all the loop points does still exist and by pressing it the loop starts as expected.

This loop is visible in hot cue section on XDJ-RX:

This loop doesn't shop up on XDJ-RX:

Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong?

Hallo Volker,

when loading the next track, are you loading it to the same Deck or to the other one? With my XDJ-1000 the Hot Cues are loaded only with the tracks they belong to. When loading another track the hot cues for that track getting loaded if there are any. The old Hot Cues remain only when using the 'Track Search' to skip to the next track.

I see!!!!!!!!

When selecting a track via browser and rotary knop to a deck, all cue looping points are loaded, AND the hot cue buttons are highlighted.

When I use the "track search" forward/backward buttons to find my next track for quick cueing on my headphones, the track is loaded to the other deck, the cue loop point letters are shown in the display, too, but no cue loop information is available on the blue hot cue buttons: they get not highlighted.

That seems to be bug!!!

No - not a bug - expected behaviour.

At least this is what I got from my Investigation as I had the same question. If I recall correctly it has to do with timing aspects. Loading the hot cue takes some time. If you are searching a track you want to listen to the track immediately to decide if you go for it or search another one.
That's why it had been decided to implement as it is - so no bug - works as designed.

When you want to have the hot cues loaded for a track you selected via the 'Track search' you need to manually 'call' the hot cues to be loaded. You may need to check how that works for you RX.

Anyway after the Manual call the hot cues are not ready to Play in sync with the Music. You have to release them ones to make them work properly. This is a bit anoying.

Check it out.

I haven't found a "manually call the hot cues to be loaded" so far.

So I have to find my next track via "track search", when i've found it, I have to go to another (false) track and reload the found track by using the browser/rotary knop.

I think the Manual 'call' is here:

Do you need to press 'Shift' 'Hot Cue' probably?

At least it is working like this with the XDJ-1000. After I did a Manual 'call' of the hot cue and press the hot cue for the first time, there is a small delay. That first time it doesn't align to the beat - even not with quantize on. Maybe the hot cue load is not 100% complete after the manual 'call'.
I can see it on the XDJ-1000 - the hot cue is showing a green light. When pressing the hot cue the first time, the light turns red and back to green.

Pressing the Hot cue the second time all works fine. Not sure what you are experiencing with your RX.

When loading the track via the browser / Rotary knob all is perfect. Hot cues loaded and fully available.

So before using it the first time in the mix, all you have to do is to CALL it, then tap the hot cue two times and then it works in sync?

For the XDJ-1000 - yes. Call -> press hot cue -> press hot cue again to confirm it is working now.

Again - this is only in case you have manually called the hot cue. When loading the track through browser / Rotary knob or though Rekorbox link, it works from the very start.

Does it behave on you RX the same?

in rekordbox you can activate "auto load cue" on your track, so when you play with the rx you have the hot cue loaded automatically. ( sorry for my bad english)

@Guiseppe: that works if you select the track via the browser/rotera knob, but not when you "track search" the next track. Then you have to reload the cue Points by pressing SHIFT+LOAD, thanx Frank for that!

@Frank: couldn't reproduce the red/green behaviour on my RX, anyway if I'm safe by pressing HOT CUE two times, thats ok for me.

Hot tip: Load your hot cues in banks: A, B, C and D

Yours appear to be starting at G...

Steve, there is an intro loop "A"
"G" is the misused as a marker to indicate where to drop the track.
