DDJ FLX4 MICROPHONE WONT OUTPUT

I get audio output from my laptop to the DDJ FLX4 just fine but when I plug in my XLR to unbalanced 1/4 into the mic slot and turn up both the mic level knob and the knob next to the port I get no mic output through the RCA cables. Any help is appreciated. Searched online with no luck.

I can also plug the same mic into my speaker directly but it will only output from one speaker. With the DDJ FLX4 I was hoping to have the mic knob and output to both speakers so this is a bummer unless I am missing something.
