Hi I am new to this forum but I've found some issues with the RX2, firmware v1.20.
I bought a RX2 earlier this week and while playing with this nice piece of hardware came upon some weird bugs.
- While using the effects one of the buttons when pushed didn't start to blink. The effect was active all the time, even after pushing the button multiple times. After turning the console on and off it worked again.
- In crossfader mode, both settings, both faders completely open, the music came through on both channels while the crossfader was either left or right. Again, problem solved after turning controller on and off.
- My usb's didn't read all the time, some times they did, other times they didn't and got an error message.
After speaking with the dealer on the phone, trying to fix the problems with firmware update, turned out not to be possible to hard-reset or do anything, so we switched the machine for a new one.
Same weird bugs (firmware v1.20)
- Effects not working, just one of four was working. And again, switching the machine off and on fixed the problem.
Went for a small tutorial at the Pro DJ School in Amsterdam about some questions I had, updated the firmware on their machine to v1.20 and low and behold, again, weird bug!
- The Beat Jump options not working at all on the effect pads.
Seems to me there are some issues in the software/firmware. Are there more people with these issues?

XDJ-RX2 is literally riddled with bugs and the lack of regular firmware updates from Pioneer is shameful.
The last firmware was release back in Sep 17 and despite numerous major bugs being reported and acknowledged, no interim updates have been released.
In it's current state the XDJ-RX2 not fit for purpose.
Get your act together Pioneer and make a plan to release frequent updates to address these bugs and the hundreds of other bugs in the software.
At the moment I have similar issues and a case opened with management visibility for weeks with no traction yet. i'm having regrets buying this eye candy product and escalation slow in providing responses.
I returned my (second) RX2 to the dealer since both machines were not working properly and traded it in for the brand new DDJ-1000. Less software and 4 channels for way less money. And guess what?! I found the first bug within 4 hours... I guess Pioneer’s own Steve Jobs also died....
@HAMOJA > Your issue is being handled; your patience is appreciated while our team investigates.
@Joey > What "bug" did you find? Have you updated the firmware?
I have been told that for weeks now and my patience is running thin.. by when do you think you'll have a concrete resolution?
When using the effects on the right side of the mixer, flanger etc, as soon as you press the pretty blue button there is a lag in the music. Almost skips a beat. This occurs on all sources, not just internal with recordbox but also on the vinyl which I use. Talking about the DDJ-1000 now, not the XDJ-RX2 which I returned.
Updated to latest firmware two days ago as soon as I bought rhe DDJ-1000
I’m wondering, should I maybe just return the DDJ as well? Since I’ve been reading here there’s not really any support or solutions offered by Pioneer?
Joey, does this happen with all of the effects or only certain effects?
Sorry, couldn't respond sooner since there were problems with your website. I tested my DDJ-1000 and the conclusion is this:
If I use the Beat FX module (any and all FX) on the MST out, there's hiccups and glitches, if I use it on an external machine (record player in this case on CH3), there's hiccups and glitches. If I use it on CH1-4 on the DDJ-1000 itself (with Rekordbox) it works fine.
Does adjusting your buffer size make any difference?
Just tried different buffer size settings, still same problem on MST out and external record player :(
Guys - why are you posting DDJ-1000 issues on a XDJ-RX2 topic?
Perhaps first read before commenting?
@Joey - You returned your XDJ-RX2 and bought a DDJ-1000 with which you are having issues and posting those issues in this thread. That's a change of topic from the OP.
@Joey > We are certainly providing support solutions. I'll ask you to please file an inquiry ticket here so our rekordbox support team will be able to gather some additional information to assist you in resolving this issue.
