DDJ-RB channel volume control not working when playing through PC speakers

So basically I just bought the DDJ-RB and when I select external speakers through rekordbox, the volume is all the way turned up for both channels, neither master volume nor channel volume works, when I slide it up and down, I assume there's an easy fix for this, but I can't seem to figure it out
