Continued Problems Trying to Connect Pioneer Mixer to MacBook Pro

I'm not looking at doing anything complicated here. I'm just trying to connect a mixer to my Macbook Pro so I can make recording. Simple you might think. No!! I'm at day 8 of trying.  The "fix" from someone calling themselves Pulse didnt work at all.  The local team is Japan sent some instructions that were so unspecified as to be useless.  Yet more hours wasted. Driving me absolutely nuts.  SO, SO wish I'd got another product.
