Viewing [MATCHING] tracks on XDJ1000mk2

I'm unclear on how the matching feature works on the XDJ1000mk2. When I link tracks together in rekordbox using the little link icon between the two decks the behavior when loading the exported track on my XDJs is inconsistent.

If I sort by Matching on the xdj then select the other player I get one of two outcomes:

1. I see just one track, the one that is currently playing, and it's greyed out so it cannot be selected.

2.I see a whole list of random tracks. Not the same list as the related tracks I see in rekordbox when I click the "related track list icon", and it's not a list of tracks I have "linked" in rekordbox by clicking the link icon between the two decks in export mode.

What am I doing wrong?

Have you selected a "matching playlist" on the left? From there, you set the criteria you're using to match.

On the left of the XDJ1000, or on my rekordbox software on the computer?

So I need to set the matching criteria for the XDJ1000 touchscreen from inside rekordbox on my computer?

So long as you have a match established, then you have something to select from, yes.

Thanks for your help, but I'm still unclear on how the Related Tracks section on Rekordbox connects with the MATCHING tracks on my XDJ1000. It seems like you are just explaining how to use the related tracks feature from within rekordbox.

No - the XDJ-1000 itself does not have the provision to browse matching tracks, which is why I directed you to use the Related Tracks playlists within rekordbox.

Sorry - you only ever mentioned MK2 in the first post.

I specifically said I had an mk2 above, the title of this entire post is Viewing [MATCHING] tracks on XDJ1000mk2

And you're somehow not able to use the matching as outlined in the topic you've linked?

I have the same issues the other user is describing, that's why I've created this thread, to clarify how the feature is supposed to work.

As I said in my first post I have had inconsistent results when accessing the matching feature from the XDJ1000mk2. I thought my initial post was pretty clear as to what I was experiencing, but if you need more information let me know.
