DJS-1000 syncable with anything else?

Hello everybody,

i'm currently considering to move over from a Denon MC6000MK2 controller to Pioneer standalone equipent. I'm really fascinated about the DJS-1000 and its capabilities. Sure, an optimum setup would require two XDJs/CDJs and a Nexus mixer. But for budget reasons: would it also be possible to link the DJS-1000 somehow to a standalone controller like the XDJ-XR2 or CDJ-RZX?

Looking forward to your comments,

           Matthias :-)

The DJS can sync with other ProDJ Link connection, or any devices supporting MIDI BPM data.

MIDI BPM, yes, but CDJs and DJMs can transmit the beatgrid data / tempo data over the ProDJ Link.

I use my DJS-1000 with a Roland DJ-808 controller. The BPMs sync perfectly using the MIDI connection.

Question. I currently have a DJS-1000 and an S9 mixer. I know that the S9 does not have SYNC, but if I got a second DJS-1000 could/would the two 1000's sync somehow without me needing to keep my hands on the pitch?

Thanks!

@Ben > Unfortunately the only things the DJS can currently "sync" with are any unit with Pro DJ Link (a CDJ or DJM, for example), which would provide a full beat-grid sync including the capacity for the DJS to be the master, or a MIDI signal, which would provide only BPM information. But with MIDI, you'd need something capable of sending that signal to the DJS, so it depends on what you're using for software that would transmit it.
