XDJ-RX2 Vinyl mode touch not working anymore

I updated the firmware and recordbox tot he latest version and now my jog wheels do not stop the track when i touch them in vinyl mode.  They sometimes show the blue light when they are touched but usually they don't.

Update: Actually when I touch the jog wheel nothing happens. If I am touching the unit anywhere on the top of the system and then touch the jog wheel, it lights up blue and stops the track. If I only have one fingertip touching the top of the unit, it flickers blue and doesn't stop.

Am I supposed to be touching the top of the unit to use the vinyl mode?

That looks like a grounding issue - what happens if the XDJ-RX2 is only connected to a power outlet?

I just moved it to a different circuit in the house. No power strip. All circuits test ground ok.

The system appears to work fine at first. After about 10 minutes the problem appears. I just started learning to use the vinyl mode.

Again, what happens if ONLY the XDJ-RX2 is connected -- no speakers?

That was without anything but the unit plugged into the wall outlet. No speakers, mixer, amp, power strip, or anything.

Are you using a 2-prong plug or a 3-prong (grounded) plug?

The three-prong grey cable that came with the device.

@Gougey > Our engineers would like to know more about the conditions when the issue occurred.

1. Do you always have the same issue after about 10 minutes after playing tracks on XDJ-RX2?

2. Does it ever occur where you have any issues right after powering up the XDJ-RX2?

3. If you have any specific steps which may replicate the issues, please let us know.

Are you actually trying to assist with the issue?
Wouldn’t it be better for you to suggest I take it to an Authorized pioneer service depot for repair?

I'm in communication with the engineers who designed the XDJ-RX2, and they are trying to isolate the cause of the issue - hence the questions above.

Ok. So the unit seems to work fine for about 10 minutes from boot up. Is slowly becomes glitchy like in the video until you have to touch the top of the unit and the jog wheel. There isn’t any kind of zapping sensation. The unit is stand alone with no speakers or computer connected. Just the factory power cord and a usb stick. I’ve tried it on multiple circuits in the house.

I’m going to do a more detailed test over the weekend. I’ll keep you apprised

Our engineers are curious if you were able to test it more thoroughly?

I had a similar issue, the jog wheel was not responding anymore when touched. The weird thing was also the trackpad of my macbook was not working well at that same moment.  The funny things was when i touched the aluminum part of the macbook the trackpad was working well.

I think the issue had to do something with the power! When I was home i turned on my XR2 and everything worked also the trackpad of my macbook.

Because the jogs (and your trackpad) work on a capacitive sense system, if there is a problem with improper grounding, the jog sensitivity will be affected. Please check the grounding with an electrical tester should this occur again.

In my case the issue is when the unit is isolated and not connected with a laptop via USB cable. Curiously, I will see if the issue is persistent when a laptop is connected by USB.

@Gougey > Again, this could be an issue of grounding; if you can touch the faceplate of the RX2 or another known-grounded object, and it works, then the issue is certainly grounding related.
