How to switch off the automatic start of a cue?

Hi guys,

Simple question here. I didn't play on CDJ since a while (I had the 2000 before), but a friend of mine just bought the CDJ 2000 nexus 2.
So of course I go to his place for a trial ;) But here is the problem: when I save a cue (Cue 1 / Cue 2 / etc...), and when i recall it (click on cue 2 for example), it starts to play automatically. And I hate that. I just want to come back to the cue 2, and I want the CDJ waits for my order before to start playing.

So how to deactivate the automatic start?

Thanks guys

If you mean a HOT CUE, that is automatic and there is no option for what you're asking for -- gated mode. Unfortunately the CDJs still don't have this function, just when controlling software. Sorry.

Really? It seems really weird to me, I don't remember having this problem with my previous CDJ 2000. Are you sure you understood my question?

I just want to be able to press the CUE 1 / CUE 2 / CUE 3 / CUE 4 button and when I do it, it goes to the CUE location without starting playing automatically.
Or at least if it starts playing automatically at first, I'd like to be able to press the big "CUE" button and go back to the hot CUE I just called, but this time without automatic play.

I just want a way to go to my hot cue and keep it in pause, until I decide to press play. Seems a pretty simple and logic option to me.

What you're asking for has been requested a million times, but it's never been implemented on any CDJ, not even the CDJ-2000. When you press a HOT CUE button it will always trigger immediately.

You can however set a MEMORY CUE at the same spot as the HOT CUE, and use the CUE/LOOP CALL buttons to jump between them.

Yes I'm sure. If you were using the CDJ as a controller for rekordbox, that would be the ONLY way it would jump to that hot cue location and not play.

It's possible -at least when playing CDs. Press the CUE/LOOP IN button at the desired point, then MEMORY. You can then press or not the LOOP OUT button. Repeat as desired for other Cue Points/Loops. Press CUE/LOOP CALL to jump back or forth between them. CDJ-2000NXS2 will stop at cue with each press. You can then press PLAY at will.
