DDJ-1000 Audio Issue (Headroom)

Hi, I’m experiencing poor audio when scratching on my DDJ-1000, I recently changed headroom from -9db to -6db and then changed it back, somehow it sounds like it’s going through an 8-bit synth. I’ve tried changing the settings .xml file but audio is still poor, I have to increase the buffer size to 1024 before it starts to sounds better, but that latency was set at 256 before with no issues. Please help me.
