CDJ 900 Nexus dead zone / sensitivity jog wheel issue in Traktor

So I realize this is most likely an issue with the Traktor software, however I've posted on their forums and contacted their support with 0 response so far, so I figured maybe I'd ask here in the hopes somebody knows how to fix this:

Here is my post on native instruments, but TLDR there is a strange sensitivity issue where I have to turn the jog wheel a certain speed before it actually moves the track (tempo bends) in Traktor.  I used to have the exact same issue with my CDJ 400's but was able to fix it, though I have no idea how.  I feel like this is likely the same problem, but I'm not sure what I'm missing.

I made a video here to show off the issue more clearly.

edit:   I actually just tried in rekordbox and it has the exact same issue, so perhaps its not traktor's fault after all?

So after talking with some of the guys on the Traktor forums and doing some research, it seems the issue is the HID mode on the CDJ 900 Nexus.  This forces some factory mappings for midi controls like the play/pause button, search and seek buttons, and of course, the jog wheel.  This is why I wasn't able to remap any of these.

Usually in Traktor there is a "override factory mapping" button, however it's not supported with the CDJ 900 Nexus's sadly.  So there is literally no way for me to fix this issue, let alone re-map the useless search and seek buttons which I always use for beat jumping instead...strange I can do this on a 15 year old CDJ 400 but not a brand new CDJ 900 Nexus.

Guess I'll be returning these and getting my money back.
