Make sure that a main cue has been set on the track you've loaded -- it sounds like the load process starts playing the track immediately, thus not setting a main cue, so when you press the CUE button it jumps to the only one it has in memory; the previous track.
Change the deck's AUTO CUE setting by pressing and holding that button; you'll see A.CUE in the display.
