CDJ-850 USB-Port won't detect device

Hiya

I've set up a pair of CDJ-850, unfortunately both of them won't detect any USB device. I tried different formatting (MAC OS (Journaled), FAT32, ExFat) and several USB-Sticks, but nothing happens. I don't get a error message or anything, the CDJ's just won't respond after plugging the USB in (the light showing a USB connection underneath the port wouldn't turn on either).

Updating the firmware didn't work either, the CDJ can switch to the Update-Mode but because it wouldn't detect the USB I can't really update the players. What bugs me is that both of them wouldn't respond, so I wonder if the CDJ's are the problem. On the other hand I tried my USB-Sticks with my friend's CDJ's - with this model they work perfectly fine.

Any suggestions to solve this problem?

What is the make / model of USB drive(s) you've tried?

Hi hi pulse ,

live had the same issue when using the below with my CDJ nexus 2, please can you advise . I use a stand alone programme to format to FAT32, and this works on a smaller stick

Is there a solve for this? I am running into the same issue and cannot update my firmware from 1.06 to 1.13.

I've tried many USB sticks

@Mitch > It has to be formatted FAT32 with MBR (Master Boot Record). The firmware update file must be unzipped and placed at the root of the drive without being renamed. If you happened to have downloaded it with Safari, please use a different browser as Safari can corrupt the firmware file.
