Are you using Export mode at the bar? that still free

You can't use export mode at the bar using cdj-350.

OK maybe you could explain the setup that you do use at the bar, that would be helpful in getting an answer.

It needs no further explanation I think. It's obvious that when you are using cdj-350s at a bar you play at performance mode only. Read again, please. Thank you.

I know my friend and thank you! But you didn't understand my question probably that's why I said to read again my answer. If you own a rekordbox licence and you have to pay further every single month with cdj's and rekordbox 6 it makes me really upset! I will go back to Traktor! That's my point! ;)

Pulse I own a licence key from my DDJ-RZ. That unlocks me to the core plan right? With the core plan enabled to my laptop I can continue play with cdj-350s without further payment right?

You know I bought rekordbox in the past so I can play with all pioneer players and now you say to us that we have to pay every single month just for the program to unlock??? This is ridiculous... Every player must be playable with rekordbox performance mode and if you need all the essentials stuff (which I and billions of Djs don't need) will be at the creatives plan and a payment method. It's tottaly unacceptable. If Pioneer don't fix this I will totally go on another dj program. Thank you.

No, your DDJ-RZ will continue to unlock those same features within rekordbox 6 for free.

Correct - the RZ unlocks the software when it is connected. Without that hardware connected, those functions are not available without the subscription to a plan. The CDJ-350's will require a plan.

This is unacceptable. What kind of policy is this? And Rekordbox 5 won't get any further updates or support in the future?  It's ridiculous in many ways! You now have to update your rekordbox 6 database to play with RZ and your rekordbox 5 to play at the bar... Totally ridiculous. Sorry... If this won't get fixed sadly I will have to abandon rekordbox and go to another Dj program. And millions of Djs I suppose...

This is to improve the software and add new features. No, there will be no further development on rekordbox 5.

If you choose to do so, you can continue to use your RZ with rekordbox 5 and not move forward to rekordbox 6.

A dj program is supposed to be compatible and play with all of the hardware especially if the hardware is of it's own company!! For God Shake! make all the essential features with payment and let all the hardware unlocked and playable. This would be fair! Mac OS and Windows will co on and compatibility issues will surely Occur and you say us to continue use a program with no further support! RIP Pioneer.... Sadly news. I will wait for a while and if this won't get fixed I will go on another Dj program sorry. This is unacceptable.

I am in the same boat with my home controller.. that being said you can always continue to use RB5. Serato does the same stuff for a lot of mixers and controllers that are LITE versions, which is kinda what we are learning old hardware is now with RB6.

Although, they do allow a persistent license option as well as a subscription (which is always nice).

This is just the way of the world, and sometimes developers/companies have to make a cut to move forward and hardware gets left behind.

No hardware is being left behind -- the CDJ350's never came with a license for rekordbox dj; it was a paid upgrade to use that software, just as it is now for rekordbox 6.

Serato doesn't make any hardware of it's own. I am only asking for the players that Pioneer created to be playable. I know how Serato and every other program policy works.

Pulse I paid everything for my rekordbox in the past to have full features of my needs enabled. I will pay a new licence for rekordbox 6 If necessary. (Same happened with TRAKTOR in the past; acceptable) But I won't pay a monthly subscription just for using PIONEER'S players with Rekordbox 6. Create a new payable feature that unlocks all players for Rekordbox 6 and that's fine! Problem solved.

Again, no hardware is being left behind; the CDJ-350's are still usable, but in order to be usable with the new version of the software, you have to pay to use it.

Have you never paid to upgrade any software before?

Pulse as I said I am agreed to pay for the upgrade once! Not to pay rent every single month! And of course, I have paid to upgrades for other companies before Rekordbox times. BUT! Every program except some subscription features, they offer one time paid upgrades. One nice morning an update came out of nowhere and now I have to pay every month for a common feature?  Look I love Pioneer Dj products since years but I am totally against monthly subscription for the basic features such as playing with CDJS. Create a once time paid upgrade and everything is fine! But I will never pay a monthly subscription just to play with CDJs.

Much like Adobe, Microsoft, and many others before us, we have moved from a one-time purchase model, to a subscription model. There is no longer an option to buy the software. Past upgrades are not compatible with the new software.

Of course I work as a DJ many years and I own many Pioneer Dj Hardware as well. Yes not now with the COVID but since 2003. Totally different products and models of adobe, Microsoft and the PioneerDj. And even with these companies, you mentioned you pay a subscription for features like cloud! I never paid monthly to Microsoft or Apple to use MAC OS or Windows for example! I paid once to give me the license key! You can do the same! Subscription for the cloud and all the new features you created! Totally agreed! But you cannot change all the features you had before and now make them payable. This is the wrong part! Look if this unfair thing won't change I surely move on to another Dj company sadly. And many Dj's I suppose.

Apple charges a monthly fee for cloud. Their OS is free, but unlocked by the hardware ... just like using rekordbox!

Microsoft charges a subscription for their cloud storage as well as Office software. Yeah, you can buy a license for Windows, but you have to pay again if you buy it off the shelf.

But back to my last question - you work as a DJ, meaning you get paid to DJ. That makes the DJ software and any associated services you pay for tax-deductible. $4.99 or $9.99 per month is a business expense, which is less than the cost of 4 songs or 2 cups of coffee per month. And you're telling me that as a business person who makes money using these tools, you can't justify the cost?

Which hardware is unlocked with Adobe Apple and Windows exactly? For all of these, the subscription you mentioned is for cloud purposes only right?? So do the same! Monthly subscription for the cloud features and all the new features you mentioned! As a serious company, you are you can't touch and change all the features you offered before and one beautiful morning makes your customers pay for them to have. Charge all the new features you created and the cloud! I totally agreed with this! Fair. But it is totally wrong with this policy. And if a bar bought 2 cdjs and for example, you included license keys with cdjs, every dj in this bar must activate this license key for the rekordbox to unlock?? With the story that you have as a professional and the hardware you created, you can't work like adobe and Microsoft like this! Time will show this to you but when it shows, many djs will have gone back to their previous programs.

These prices you mentioned are until July... wrong? And no I won't like to have that pain in the ass every month. I can pay for one time licence to unlock all the fetures except cloud but if this won't get right as it was before I am obliged to go back to other's company product.

Giannis  is right we are not gonna pay for monthly sub .....if you want to charge for the upgrade to rekordbox 6 thats fine, we have not any problem to pay .... don't force your customers to subscription if they dont want to .....give as the option to choose ....  i'm in the same position ...... i will change dj software if you dont fix it with cdj support one time payment ......

I own xdj rx2 and I only use RBox to create a playlist and pass the tracks to usb. I don't play with the program and I don't use a laptop, I only play with usb. For us, does something change if I download 6 or stay at 5?

Just because you bought another piece of hardware which came with a license that coincidentally unlocked the software for the CDJs doesn't mean that the CDJs are eligible to continue functioning as such when the software changes.

And those prices are in effect as promo until July; if you subscribe before the change, you get that price for life.
