DJM 450 USB/AUX output level control

I'm trying to use the mixer in it's soundcard mode, as decsribed in the FAQs.
https://faq.pioneerdj.com/product.php?c=1951&lang=en&p=DJM-450&t=faq

Drivers are installed succesfully and the DJM450 appears as a soundcard output in my system preferences (OSX Mojave).

My understanding so far is that for sound to be output to the mixer from a computer you have to set the AUX in to 'computer' and then it should be output. Changing the level of output using the level control.

However what you have to do is change, both AUX to 'computer' and the channel 1 input to 'computer' and then sound is output through channel 1.

Is this the expected behavior or should you be able to manage the USB/AUX outpiut level with just the AUX level pot and not channel 1?

Yes just general audio output.

Using Rekordbox everything is fine and works as expected.

If you assign the DJM as your main output device, it's going direct to master; not to the AUX. Just use the master volume level, and don't forget to un-assign it as your audio device before going back to mix within rekordbox.
