Question about universal voltage & adapters

I just bought a DDJ-1000srt-W (white version) from Japan to be shipped to U.S. I am under the impression that this unit supports universal voltage. So, is the power brick that comes with it universal, or would I need an adapter or different power supply (cable) to operate in the states? I assume there's some sort of difference between the two countries. I just want to make sure if I need to purchase a different power brick or adapter, that I get what I need.

Look on the info plate of the DC adapter; most switch-mode power supplies are universal voltage (110-240V).

Someone suggested I will need a step-down transformer? Is that the case here?
