XDJ RR Freezes for 1 or 2 seconds when playing with Rekordbox - Performance via MIDI

Hi all,

I have just purchased a XDJ RR, I am really enjoying playing with it! You guys have managed to put together a great product!

However when playing through Rekordbox 6 connected via MIDI (Performance) it tends to freeze for 1 or 2, sometimes 3 seconds and then continues playing. It normally happens maybe once or twice in a hour of playing.

It seems not to freeze if connected via Rekordbox button (Export) . Also plays fine via USB.

So I am wondering if there's a problems with the MIDI interface on the unit, afterall it is brand new.

I am using the latest firmware 1.03

My computer is a Windows 10, Intel i7, 16GB RAM, 500GB SSD

Sounds like something in the system then... try disabling any antivirus, malware, system enhancement apps, etc., or any other background tasks that don't need to be running. Even system indexing and Cortana can interfere.

You may also want to try increasing the size of the audio buffer in rekordbox.

OMG! Found the cause!

After dealing with this issue for more than a year, and troubleshooting every single aspect of my laptop, (new memory, new hardisk, other USB connections, other operating system, other versions of rekordbox, other hardware, etc) I found out today when this strange random stutter/freeze in the music happens!

The moment the charger charges the battery from 99 to 100%

I don't know what it means exactly yet, but the issue seems to happen when the laptop stops charging the laptop and switches main power source from battery to cable or from cable to battery (whichever happens when you are at 100%)

Check your power preferences; you may have a profile that affords different performance settings when you're charging vs fully charged.
