Yesterday when I played a gig my device just freezed when I was using the Beat Jump function. Why am I paying 2200 Euro for a high end device which is unreliable when its needed the most. The crowd was unhappy and I am just super angry that i spend my money on a product which is not reliable. I though i have some quality when buying a high end device of Pioneer. Is there any chance to get the money back? I purchased the product in January and I don't want to have a product which freezes in gigs. Can that be possible somehow? Otherwise I would make this topic public and would call in the media. Maybe you will react then? It cant be true to pay so much for a product that produces something like that. I realized that it will happen again so I have to move to Denon if you cant fix this huge problem. Super angry and discusted of Pioneer and their malfunctioning device..

Hey Nikita,
I'm sorry to hear about the issue you had at your gig. In order to determine the cause of the problem, it would help to know a bit more about the scenario...
What firmware is on the player?
Were you playing stand-alone or as a controller?
If stand-alone, what was the make / model / format of the USB?
What was the type of audio file, sample-rate / bit depth?
What was playing on the other deck?
Were you also recording at the same time?
It was the firmware 1.1, I was playing it stand-alone. The format system was fat32 and the usb stick is called SanDisk Ultra Dual 128 Gb Usb 3.0. The audio file was a 128 kbps mp3 mix of 40 minutes because at that time luckily my set was over. Still not very great. Way before the accident (like one hour before) i felt that the system got laggy when I was using the beat jump function, only at that function rest was functioning like it should. On the other deck was absolutely nothing at that moment. Yes, I was recording at the same time.
Nikita,
That drive doesn't seem to be very performance-oriented; I would recommend considering another drive with better read/write speeds. I personally recommend the SanDisk Extreme Pro USB 3.0, which features R/W speeds 3x that of the Dual. And with a higher quality memory manager, it's less likely to crack under pressure of simultaneous read and write operations if you're recording while playing.
Okay, will buy a better now. Hopefully it will not happen again. Kind regards
The recording was from a different stick though.
Nikita,
That's usually recommended, but it sounds like this was an issue reading if it was already performing slow during beat jump (and thus re-buffering) operations.
I have similar issue same conditions, while i am using USB 3.0 and it only happens after updating the firmware.
it happens 2 times during the gigs and i have to re-start and music stopped :-(
Hey Galilo,
If you could please post your own topic with the information I asked Nikita above, I'd be happy to assist you:

I had the same problem with my XDJ-XZ (freezed), shortly after the update to 1.10.
I just putted USB device into XDJ-XZ. (SanDisk Ultra Flair 64GB with Beatport Mp3/AiFF music)
Not connected to PC or MAC / Record Mode was OFF.
After the situation I find out the problem with Audio Quality too, while mixin'
Boris,
Are you able to replicate the freeze with the same song(s) you were playing at the time?
It didn't.
@Pioneer I have also experienced freezing. My XDJ XZ is less than 3 months old so it is very concerning. This happened whilst playing in Rekordbox Performance Mode. It has happened to me twice using MP3 files.
