Hi everyone,
Just here to let you know that the 1.20 firmware released this week (Sep. 30, 20201) adds an improved jog pitch bend curve!
Please download the firmware here.
I just bought 2 cdj 3000 players and on both While Playing a track from usb Im experiencing an issue using the jog wheel, when bending the pitch It is to sensitive And glitchy its almost like a latency issue. It is nothing to do with the tension adjust. I have used the unit with HID mode in rekordbox and it feels Perfect and how it should when you bend the pitch and not all glitchy. There is definitely an issue with the software on both units and just does not feel right it Is over compensating the pitch bend to much.

Have you updated the firmware to 1.05?
Yes I updated both units when I first powered them up. There is a massive difference between playing from usb and using them in HID Mode which only leaves a possible cause to be a software issue with the units.
I too have the same problem.
There is something very off about the jog wheel when nudging (I am now on firmware 1.05 and same issue).
I raised a ticket on this couple days ago, however unfortunately at the point of sending back until resolved.
that's good to know its not just me then.
i think someone from tech needs to try it on a player, have the tension set to 12oclock and try manual pitch bend in vinyl mode playing from a usb and then try the same with it running rekordbox in HID mode.
it feels like back in the day mixing with old soundlab belt drives, constantly fighting to pull in to sync.
just paid £4400 for these and expected them to be perfect. a little disappointed at the minute i hope a firmware update resolves this issue or i to will be returning them.
check this out ben walker. is this what you are experiencing ?
Maybee not right here, but my XDJ-XZ have the exact same behavior. Very agressive bend in usb mode.
Not shure how my previous XDj1000 felt. since i got the XZ i always play in performace mode. realy nice bending here.
They should feel the same in performance mode and in usb, it does not make sense to be completely different. The max parameters are set to high on the unit while playing from usb. It is near on impossible to beat match and Is way to aggressive on the bend. This needs addressing pioneer.
Same issue here too. Peter, I have a post up about a stacked waveform problem and am interested if anyone else has the same problem as well.
Peter, yes - same issue as your video!
Pitch bend is far too over-sensitive when trying to beat match
The issue doesn't seem as bad in HID mode, however is dreadful when using USB. Same problem in export mode too
My 3000 is sitting in the box at the moment and read to be sent back - absolutely no joy in using it for mixing at the moment and definitely an issue
I raised a ticket on this a few days ago
I haven't seen any response from Pioneer yet on this however
@ Greig Gaskill hopefully they will get this sorted sooner rather than later. Other than this issue the unit is great which is why it is so frustrating. Come on pioneer ???? At least a response or an answer would be nice.
I'm sure it will be sorted, but it needs to happen quickly as I'm just not using the decks at the moment. Surprised how quiet things are though, would have expected Pioneer to be all over it!
Passed this to the product team for review, thanks for your patience while they investigate.
Have you guys also noticed when nudging tracks it causes the phase meter / stacked waveform to glitch out for a second? I havent tried HID mode yet but experiencing this when playing from USB. Hopefully we get a better firmware update asap.
Yes I noticed this also for a split second it sort of stops and carry’s on. And sometimes when switching from master on each deck the main waveform goes glitchy. It was worse on 1.03 with the waveforms, it’s better on 1.05 but still not 100%.
I also see the same issue.
Play the same tracks on both decks beatmatched and try the rotations in both directions back and forth to misalign and realign them to see the sensitivity differences between USB standalone mode and Rekordbox HID mode. Try both rotational directions and different rotation speeds. You can use the fraction of rotation or the number of rotations to compare. By the way, the tension control has nothing to do with what you're checking here except for how much it allows the jog to continue to rotate once released, so no point in messing with it, really, for these tests. You're not really interested in how long it takes the jog to stop on its own, after all, so just do the rotations in discrete, controlled amounts rather than back-spin-style. And yes, turn the master tempo off so you can better hear the bend engage when testing this.
@Peter > Deleted the other topic as we're already discussing this here. Thanks for your patience and for your video.
This morning in went to a lokal guitarstore and played with a cdj3000 next to a cdj 2000nx2. I have to say the jogs on booth have exact the same behavior when playing from usb.
Stick in the 3000, link the 2000, load the same track, pitch reset, mt off, play both tracks alignet, turn the jogs simultanius on both a half round, both tracks staying alignet...
So the different is rekordbox performance mode, but the new 3000 acts exact like the old 2000nxs and my xz at home.
I tested against 2000nxs2 and they were completely different to the 3000 in usb mode. There is an issue with the 3000 it is to aggressive on the pitch bend. I’ve never experienced this with any other unit and is definitely not rekordbox performance mode.
I can only share my experience from today, at the samentime i bend a half round on both, tracks stay in phase.
There is quite a few people with same issue so if you were lucky enough not to encounter it then it’s even more worrying that only some do it and perhaps a firmware update won’t fix this issue. But it seems like lots of people are having different issues across the units.
@pulse is there an update on this issue please as I have had no real answer from opening a ticket. And it’s all gone a bit quiet. I would like to know if this is being resolved or just ignored in which case I will be returning both units as they are unfit for purpose. Thanks.
I'm also desperate to know. I sold my 2000NSX2's to fund the 3000's. I've got a show to do on Friday and it looks like I need to hire gear in 🤦🏻♂️
@greig gaskill I to sold my fully functional set of cdj 2000nxs2’s and now left with a £4300 set that I can’t even use 🤦🏼♂️ I would like to know if this is getting sorted or these are going back and I will have to re purchase a new set of cdj 2000nxs2’s again 🤷🏼♂️
Totally in the same boat as you Peter, it's so frustrating. I've never had this much downtime from the decks in years 😩
The lack of response and update is extremely disconcerting. I've cancelled my show tomorrow, but cannot keep doing this....
It’s getting beyond a joke now not even a reply all week ?? Come on guys how about an update that this is being fixed ? Literally can’t use them like this!! Only way they are good is running through rekordbox but seems a bit expensive £6300 for a controller with less buttons and functions than my ddj-rz.
This has been passed to our hardware and rekordbox teams for review, thanks for your patience.
