talk over not working at all

hello all. xdj-xz owner here.
when i turn the mic on, and turn on talk over, talk into the mic, it does not lower the volume on the music. I've messed with the menu settings for it but still nothing. on my djm mixer, when i had talk over switch on and talked into the mic, the music would lower so people could hear me. this is not the case with the xdj-xz. the music stays at the same volume and no one can hear me, i have to lower the channel fader for anyone to hear me. is this just how it is with the xz or is there a fix?
