CDJ 3000 pro link 2x laptops

2x CDJ 3000, latest firmware, both ethernet into a gigabit hub.

One laptop in the hub, Link 1 works fine.

Second laptop in the hub (to do changeover etc), little slow to recognise but comes up as link 2 so all good.

2nd laptop cannot load tracks. Just get loading message on CDJ. Waiting for several minutes. Both CDJs still play and laptop 1 can load tracks but with a huge lag. Entire system is completely unuseable.

Both laptops had Rekordbox libraries with over 10,000 tracks. I have no idea why this should make a difference but worth pointing out. Pro Link should be the simplest method, you connect, the link appears and nothing should happen until you drag a track to a CDJ in Rekordbox. Can you please try to PCs on ethernet with large libraries?

Thanks.

A large library is not the problem (I have over 50K songs) - laptop 2 probably has an issue with the firewall or other configuration on the computer. Please check that there aren't any server applications or other file sharing services / network service enabled on that computer which may be blocking some or all of the necessary communications between the software and the CDJ.

Hi thanks for the reply.

If laptop 1 is connected first works fine.

Laptop 2 connects and the whole system stalls with 'loading' on CDJ.

I would think if they can both connect via ethernet link separately and work fine there would not be an issue with communication on either?

Chris.

Hmmm... if they work as the first connected device but not the second, then yes, there is something interesting going on.

What is the "hub" you previously referred to?

Just a 5 port soho gigabit switch. Tried a Linksys and a TP-Link (I think).

I can video it at the weekend if that helps?

Just thinking, I have creative plan but the other laptop is free version. Would being free version prevent two devices connecting via ethernet?

Yeah, that wouldn't make a difference - it's unmanaged, it wouldn't interfere with traffic. The only other thing I can think is there's something else on the network causing traffic. Have you run a virus scan / malware scan on the computers?

A video may help.

No, link is a function available for free - no plan required.
