rekordbox 4.2.5 not opening

 alright so i purchased the ddj-rx yesterday and immediately afterwards brought it home, installed all the software and began using my controller with no issues. so fast forward to today i go over to use my controller but when i go to open rekordbox nothing happens, it simply will not open. i tried restarting my computer multiple times, i tried uninstalling and reinstalling the program multiple times and still no luck. i was suggested through another fourm to right click on the rekordbox program on my desktop and open the troubleshoot compatibility window which suggests i run the program as an administrator, which i do and still it will not open, it then asks me if the troubleshooting method worked, i click no and it sends me to a "program compatibility troubleshooting" window which tells me an issue was found and rekordbox is an incompatible program. i have tried what seems like everything and still cannot get rekordbox to open and would greatly appreciate any kind of help or insight on as to how to fix my issue. just for reference, i am running on windows 8 with a 64 bit processor and if there is any other information needed about my system in order to diagnose this problem please feel free to ask as i need all the help i can get at the moment.
