Thinking about switching to Recordbox DJ

I'm an ex-Traktor user. Took the plunge when I bought a DDJ-RZ.

1 - don't think there's any way around this as all tracks needs to be analysed before you can play them. But - analysing doesn't take long. I could drag a song from the harddisk/network into a (temporary) playlist and usually within seconds it's been analysed and is available for me to drag into a deck.

2 - I do this all the time. In fact, it's how I made the switch - I dragged whole folders into Rekordbox.  Including genre folders (eg Trance) which had many sub folders - all the tracks withtin the folder got added to my library.

Yes analyzing per song is Fast but I have a library of over 70000 songs.
Another DJ i spoke to had a library of 40000 song which took over a week !!

I have tried the complete folders but doesn't seem to work for me ?

Analysing 70000 tracks will take a long time and there's no getting around that. But I didn't find this an issue.

Eg - I don't think you'll need access to all 70000 of your tracks at the start. What I did was analyse the "must have" or "play every time" tracks, who h prepared me for most situations. If I then needed a song that wasn't in my library during a live situation, I simply went to the folder, found the track and added it to tolhe library... With it usually available to play within seconds.

To be honest, I'm still going through my tracks but I like Ike to add cue points, move the grid etc.

Awesome I also made the switch and have not looked back, I bought the DDJ RZ and love it. hopefully in the near future we see a few upgrade in the area or sample, Remix decks....

I made the switch myself in November. I was a Traktor Pro 2 user for about 5 years, took a break from DJ'ing and got rid of my Kontrol S4. I wanted to get back into things and needed a new controller, but I didn't want to get a Kontrol S2/S4 again. Looked into the DDJ-RB and Rekordbox (RB fit my price range... kids and all lol). So far, I'm loving Rekordbox!

As far as moving your entire library? 70000 plus songs is going to take forever so do it in chunks. I didn't move any of my music. The drive where I was holding all my music failed, and the back up drive also failed *Sigh* so I have to buy everything again.

Rekordbox does need some work but whats here right now works great for me. Wondering what they have in the works for future updates...

Hi I have a contralador compared to Pioneer in November 2016, the DDJ RX that works with Rekordbox dj and is a problem, since I buy it and work to freeze the buttons at intervals leaving you in full session in very bad situation, I have updated the finware of the driver, updated rekordbox to the latest versions and the problem continues, I have seen here that many people with the same problem and I do not see any solution by any side, which I do not understand that if pioneer sold these equipments as well They and their engineers have not looked for a solution or response to us clients for years of them, I think this is a big problem and a lack of respect for customers.
