CDJ 2000 Nexus 2 with DDJ-SP1

I am running a DDJ-SP1 plugged into the flash drive (USB) input on one of my CDJ-200 Nexus 2 decks running software (1.60).  The decks and mixer, DJM900 Nexus 2 are hooked up via a wired router.  Everything on the system works great except for the DDJ-SP1 which keeps loosing connection.  I've tried several USB cables with no luck.  Most of the time it happens on startup but I have had it loose connection during performances.  The error I receive pops up on the CDJ stating "E-8307: Device No Response".  I checked the software and firmware on the SP1 and it is up to date as are the CDJ's and DJM.  When the SP1 is working it works great, but it is so inconsistent.  Any idea what the problem might be?  Please keep in mind that I am not using a laptop or any DJ software with this particular setup.  

I would also like to know if there is an alternative way to plugin the SP1.  I do a lot of tag team work and the way it is currently setup takes away a USB/Flash-drive input so we have to combine music ahead of time onto one flash-drive.  I would live to know if I can hook up the SP-1 via the DJM900 Nexus 2 since they are connected via a router?  Is there another way to connect them that would allow me to utilize the CDJ flash drive input?
