This is a continuation of my original post here since I stopped receiving help after the first comment by your staff: https://forums.pioneerdj.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/115017571763--How-do-you-record-capture-a-sample-from-a-track-using-Rekordbox-DJ-?page=1#community_comment_115003834743
My DDJ-SB is connected to my Macbook Pro and using Performance Mode in Rekordbox DJ. I have already checked to make sure that I am in [Preferences] > [Audio] > [Input channels] > [Input Record]. It says MASTER OUT and below it "Control Device Information" is Pioneer DDJ-SB which is my controller so no problem here.
As suggested by Pioneer staff in previous post, I opened the "REC" panel and used it to record. This is one way to create a sample, but it's technically not a sample (Capture) but a Recording.
Take a look at this screenshot below.
Notice how Slave_capture in the first slot of the sampler is a "capture" and stored as a Capture under Sampler (see file tree on the bottom left). This is a sample I created when I first used Rekordbox but haven't been able to do again.

With the method you described, you must give it an artist name, track name, etc. and it gets stored under "Recordings" in the file tree.
There is a difference between a Capture and a Recording and how can I capture a part of a track to use as a sample instead of recording it?
Thanks
