DDJ SX2 Tempo Fader Problem

 Hey everyone,

I recently picked up a DDJ SX2 and I'm having trouble with the left tempo fader. When playing a song I can pull the fader from the center point towards me to increase the tempo of the song as I should be able to do (lets say from 70 bpm to 80 bpm).

If I start at 70 bpm (with the fader resting in the middle) and push the fader away from me, as opposed to decreasing the tempo, it also increased the tempo of the song until it is about half way between the mid point and the top of its slot. It hits about 73 or 74 bpm and then it jumps down to 66 bpm and from that spot on as I move the fader the tempo then decreases. 

Essentially I am not able to adjust the tempo of my 1 or 3 tracks between that range of 66 and 70 bpm and I am unsure what could be causing this issue but it seems like it would be a hardware issue becasue my right tempo fader works perfectly fine.
