Auto hot cue in Rekordbox 5 dvs ?

Hello,

I just switch from Traktor to Rekordbox DJ DVS (so I use it with vinyl), but there is a thing that I can't figure it out (if it's possible to do).

In Traktor, when I load a new track, the first hot cue spot is always mark with the begining of the track. Like this, when I play on vinyl with just some pad for the hot cue, I can still put the track back at the begining easily.

In Rekordbox, I don't find this option, so as I'm on vinyl, without regular cue option like a CDJ, if I load a new track (without hotcue) I have to think about marking the 1st hot cue if I want to be able to put the track back at the begining quickly. It's not really conveniant to do and if I forget, I have to use the mouse to go back at the begining of the track.

So is there an option to do that automatically with hot cue ? (not just regular cue)

Thanks

@Whoopi > Well, @Sergio was close... what you actually want is this:

First, set it so when you import / analyse your tracks in rekordbox, they'll automatically have a memory cue added to the start of the track.

Next, set the load preference as follows:

The first setting tells rekorbox to set the main cue to that first memory or hot cue point, and the second tells it to NOT PLAY immediately upon load.

You will always have the cue, but the best way to jump back and keep playing is by assigning the first hot cue to that primary location as well (this is something I do on every track).

Hi,

Go to Prefernces -> Controller -> Deck and you will find Auto Cue option, just change the options in each deck (1, 2, 3 and 4) to Enable and you have Auto Cue on

Thanks, but that's for normal cue, not hotcue. It's usefull if I'm on a controler or CDJ because there is a cue bouton, but as I'm on vinyl (with DVS) I only have a controler for hot cue point, and apparently that's not the same :/
(for now the only solution I find is to map the cue bouton and "sacrifice" the first hotcue but that's not the more conveniant solution for the way I use it)

It was already set like that, but that still doesn't mark the first hot cue when using with DVS.
I try to map the cue button on my controler (RP 8000) but it doesn't work when not in internal mode, and same for "jump to start track" apparently.

For now the best option I find is to play on Traktor when using DVS and on Rekordbox DJ when using CDJ, but it's not really a solution, I would like to switch completly on Rekordbox (and at some point buying an S9 mixer)

@Whoopi > It may have been set like that, but was it previously set that way when you imported / analysed those tracks? It's possible that function was added after you imported some songs, and as a result, they don't have a memory point or hot cue stored at the start of the track.

You'll need to be on RELATIVE mode, but it will allow you to jump to a hot cue (or the main cue) when using a mapped button.

I think it was, but just to be sure, I deleted all the collection and import it again, but still the same result. I got a cue point (to use with the cue button on a CDJ) but not a hot cue.
Also I'm always on relative mode

The analysis & memory cue setting doesn't set a hot cue - that's something you have to do yourself, but you can load a track, the auto-cue will jump it to the first memory point, then you can set and store a hot cue for use during performance. Next time you load the track it will be recalled, but the track will also cue to that first point.

yes I already use it like that, but it's not really conveniant, as sometime when I play on DVS with vinyl, I load a track with no hot cue, I play it and see if it's good, but when I want to put it back at the begining, I can't because there is no hot cue if I don't think about marking it when loading a track for the 1st time, and there is no other way to go back to the start point of a track on DVS.

If you can suggest to the programmer team to add that option in a future update, that would be great :)

Or another option to go back quickly at the begining of the track when using vinyl, without having to use the mouse (but the hot cue option is the best, probably not just for me, because usually on vinyl people with a controller have something for the hotcue mostly)
