DDJ ERGO TROUBLE

so i have had ddj ergo for a long time now and i have kept it updated and taken great care of it. unfortunately the cable connecting my laptop to the controller began to have issues. i tried to work around the issues, adding tape and support to the cable but its gotten to the point where it will power my board but cant connect to the controller in serato. i just purchased a brand new 5ft usb cable and it wont even power the controller or recognize that it is connected to my computer, or serato. really have no clue what else to do
