Pioneer DDJ-RB not recognised

My computer has recently begun to not recognise my DDJ-RB when first connected, but would often recognise it once it had been unplugged and plugged back in again, but now wont recognise it at all. It is connected properley as there is power being supllied to it but the computer won't recognise the connection, indepent of which USB port is used. When looking at my computer's audio settings the DDJ-RB is not even listed as an audio device, and when checking the DDJ-RB settings utility the firmware version is not displayed. I don't know how to solve this problem so would appreciate some help.
