Hi people,
Im seriously considering getting and RZX from a current RZ. My RZ performs beautifully, however, the RZX is tempting, especially if I can sell mine at a good price.
I have several concerns which I hope you can help shed some light here:
1) Pitch resolution: initial reviews said the pitch wasnt good enough, however, I saw a firmware update addressing that. My RZ manages .01 to .02 increments.
2) Reliability. I have a top end MBP, 15", Touchbar with 16gb ram, I7, 2.6ghz which should do more than the job... am I correct?
3) Any other issues you'd like to mention?

I just bought the DDJ-RZ (and waiting for the RZ2 to come out in the next week hehe). The main reason I went with the RZ rather than the RZX was size. The RZX is HUGE, and really needs a flight case to protect the screens so the combination is around 30kg. If you're not using it for mobile use that might not matter, but for me it was a killer. Shame, as I loved the extra control features

Some input from my side:
1) Pitch resolution is fine since the upgrade of firmware, is not 100% but is much better than before that was almost impossible to have precise pitch adjust, let's say now is 98% :)
2) I was using a Core i7 2.2 GHZ with 8 GB of RAM and the machine was all the time at 60% of CPU consumption, now I changed to a much powerfull machine similar of yours and with RB 5 it stay all the time around 30% of CPU consumption, so I do not believe that you are not going to have any problem
3) Other issues:
I am using RZX since end of last year and I reported several BUGs that were fixed in the last RB versions such as Audio Drops, fail when press CUE button, Wave Forms not aligned in the central screen, lags when press hot-cue and some others.
It is more stable now, at this moment I am facing some audio drops in some circunstancies I have do make some adjusts such as deacivate DVS mode, and make my computer to run in Power balanced mode and this decreased a lot the number of occorrencies.
What I miss at this moment is better options for filtering songs in the controller (see this suggestion I made yesterday).
The most part of the time I do not need to see my computer to mix but still necessary some improvements in the firmware in order this become 100% functional and you only look the 3 screens.
Another point is since the last upgrade when I am using the central screen to select the next song, the screen not return to the waveform and I always have to press the button View, I believe this will be fixed in the next releases.
Despite this problems and costs I am ok with the controller but I believe that Pioneer can launch another Firmware versions adding some new features such as the filter I mentioned before and also possibility to have in this controller some of new RB 5 features such as Key-Sync.
If you have space since it is hudge and budget to buy is a good acquisition you get the 3 screens, some additional features over RZ such as cue split in headphones and so on.

For what I see, the RZX is still quite buggy for prime time... its been over a year now since its release and only the pitch has been improved, not perfected.
This makes me very nervous indeed! Maybe I should stick with the RZ....
I would stay with the RZ or better to change Denon. pioneer is probably not in the situation to order properly to the functionality of the RZX!
