Is DDJ-XP1 going to work with DDJ?

Hi

I like the layout on the DDJ-XP1 and would like to integrate it to my DDJ-RZ-setup.
Is this going to be possible??

It works fine, that's what I'm using.  There's one issue they need to address which is cosmetic, not functional. If you have the RZ set to control deck 1, then switch the XP1 to use deck 3 the rekordbox software shows deck 3 as active. However, the RZ is actually controlling deck 1 rather than deck 3 so it's a little confusing. Rekordbox really needs a different "active" indication for the XP1. Obviously that only matters if you use 4 decks. Technically though it works perfectly.

The sound goes through the DDJ-RZ as usual, the DDJ-XP1 is only a controller and has no audio output.

Thank you for explaining it. But were to plug it in? I plug the XP1 to the computer through USB!? But how and what volume-control do I use for sounds on the XP1? Were in the RZ do I route the sound?

I dont understand HOW the sound goes through the RZ? Please explain. Or is all set as SAME MIDI-signals as RZ? So RBDJ thinks its RZ I push?

If I say... push the Hot Cues on the XP1, is the volume same as RZ then? And If I use the FX-strips, how to control volume for them FX!?

The DDJ-XP1 is like adding more buttons to the RZ, nothing more. All the sound is produced by RBDJ.  I you have the XP1 set as SAMPLER hitting the sampler pad is exactly the same as pressing the hitting the on the RZ. What the XP1 gives you is 16 pads per deck rather than 8 and it also has extra modes on the pads for pitch shift and keyboard so you don't have to remap the RZ. You could also use the  pads on the XP1 to control the sampler while you use the RZ for hot cues. Lots of possibilities!

You just have to remember that the XP1 is only telling RBDJ what to do, it doesn't produce any sounds itself

Thank you so much!

I was thinking wrong. I was thinking the DDJ-RZ is in the "middle" bossing around with every signal.

But now I see(as Pioneers latest video). Its RBDJ that is in the middle, like a "conductor" delegating out the tasks. The DDJ-RZ and the DDJ-XP1 is just the tool activating it.

Good explaining. I cant wait until I get it next week. It was delayed here in Sweden to next week, from today.
