XDJ-RX and Midi Setting on MAC

Pioneer,

 I am having trouble with the quality of sound coming from my XDJ-RX running with VDJ 8 through my speakers. I have downloaded the latest firmware and driver as well as ensured that all settings are accurate with audio config within VDJ. I apply the use soundcard option when my device is detected upon opening VDJ8. I have the XDJ-RX set to midi control and VDJ is set to speaker headphone in audio settings. I have the master sound set a third of the way up and it is very loud. Why is it so loud and distorted? If I play with my flash drive solely, the sound is fantastic and I can use the master sound knob turned to atleast 12 oclock position. I have attempted to trouble shoot and research this issue to the best of my abilities, however I need some help. Is there a particular setting with the audio midi setup on my mac that must be set in order to use my unit with software like VDJ and hear proper sound from my speakers? I hope I was clear in my description of this issue. Any help is greatly appreciated!
