CDJ 2000 nexus doesn't read my USB

Hi, three days ago I put my USB on Rekordbox i put 2 new songs in a playlist, then i went to play and my cdjs couldn't read my Usb.

The thing is that when i connected the usb back to rekordbox everything was fine all tracks and playlists were there,

any idea what happened, and cdjs can't load the usb? ive been using it 2 years now and i never had a problem,

I tried other usbs and they work fine so the usb ports on cdjs work fine.

make sure it's formatted properly, maybe it accidentally got formatted to NTFS, It needs to be FAT/FAT32 or HFS+

is it organized properly enough locally to easily format and re-export? Maybe the database got corrupt somehow and the CDJ cannot see it. I know there are times RB can read the database fine and the cdj cannot if it gets corrupted and vice versa

have you tried another memory stick just as a test, maybe theres a power issue with the cdj's usb port with that particular drive. I know it's been working for years but you never know, Flash drives do tend to have a shorter life expectancy then standard external hard drives

i tried another stick and works fine, so i don't think it's a power issue,

i also copied all the files from the stick to my Hard Drive i formatted the usb again in fat 32 i put back the files and still the same problem,

then i formatted again i put just one song and it worked, so i think the usb works fine.

I think that a corrupted file or something like that during the last export may cause this problem, but my major problem is that i don't have my playlists organized properly enough in RB  and i want to avoid making them from the beginning,

ugh that sucks, yeah you may not have a choice at this point

there are duplicating programs so once it is set, you can always "mirror" the drive for a backup

No, you don't *have* to use Rekordbox, but you are losing out on quite a bit of functionality if you don't analyze your tracks. Rekordbox analyzation allows you to get all of the lovely wavform data to load instantly and detect the proper BPM of your tracks in order for quantization to work properly.

Non-analyzed music will play on your decks, but the wavform data will load as the track plays rather than giving you an overview.

Long story short - you benefit highly from running your tracks through rekordbox. The process is painless and actually goes pretty quickly now that v3 works with multi-core processors.

Thanks for the advice much appreciated..! I've been using the new DDJSZ with Serato and was un aware of the need for rekordbox for the CDJ's... Why can't they just have one set of software ....

Well, rekordbox is a music management software and Serato is a DJ performance software for use with a controller. Two different beasts.
