CDJ 2000 ERROR E-7001

Just had this error happened to me. Sent CDJ to a technician for $60 / hour service rate just to inspect. Had to buy ROM chip (part: DWX3307 or DWX2948) at $99 + shipping on parts.pioneerelectronics.com. I probably have to pay another $60 / hour to have it installed by an "authorized technician". Setting me back over $200 for a fault that appears on many CDJ-2000s (as seen in this and other forums); just because we decide to update it, as Pioneer suggests. Worked fine on the other 3 CDJs, except for this one.

According to some customers and Pioneer techs, this is the only solution to getting this error-7001 fixed; unless you did the firmware update wrong, mishandled the CDJ in transporting it, or any other accident, etc.

I'm pretty sure any honorable company would just order a RECALL and fix this issue. I mean, you guys are charging $1,899 for a CDJ-2000 CD player made overseas and your technicians are the ones that design the firmware updates. Unfortunately, I am one of the customers that lost their receipt, got it on eBay and/or is not still covered under warranty :(

I contacted pioneer DJ on facebook (still waiting for a response), read all the related forums on and off PioneerDJ.com, waited "on-hold" for countless times on Pioneer's 800 number, and finally, decided to call an authorized technician that is close to home. As per your answers to many customers on this forum.

It sounds like a whole lot of whining. I know. I don't mind spending thousands in Pioneer gear that gets the job done. I enjoy it! The thing that bothers me is spending hundreds on repairs that are caused by firmware or software updates that should be tested by Pioneer technicians before releasing the to the public. Instead of using customers as guinea pigs (see Apple Inc.) with their moderately expensive products.

Pioneer... Baby! You have us by the ba**s. We love your gear. We love you. We worship every new product you throw at us month by month. You are the industry standard...

Act up on it.
