I I basically would like to use audio CD's to perform/DJ but I don't want to loose out on the waveform display and maybe even cue point benefits.
My question is can I use the waveforms that are already analyzed and built in record box, save that information (not music files) to 2 SD cards and then go and burn the music files to CD and have it all work and show up properly on the 2000 Nexus players at the forth coming show?
I personally don't have any CDJS myself anymore (once owned the old 1000's MKI and 850K) so I won't have any real opportunity to check everything to make sure wave forms will be built and working before the show I got coming up.

Unfortunately not. There is no way for rekordbox data to be associated with CD audio, nor is there the ability to store rekordbox data on a CD (if you were thinking of burning it).
One thing I don't remember testing is whether the old-school method of pre-reading a CD and having its waveform data stored on the memory card still works... it's been so long since I'd tested that!

So can you tell me about how long will it take to build a full waveform for your standard 5-6 minute track?
Typically on the old MK1's I found that the track play position would almost pass up the actual building of the waveform so it didn't really help for "on the fly" wave form building while performing.
Perhaps the new CDJS build them much faster and hopefully within at least 30 seconds as most of my House Music has a break at about 30 seconds in or 1 minute and of course I could always let the waveform build for a good 15 seconds on pause before I need to mix in.
Thnaks again... if the new Nexus 2000 build waveforms super fast then I should be ok for this one performance at least.
I fired up my CDJ2000nexus to test it for you...
Using an SD card on the player WILL store waveform data from the CD. It takes roughly 30s to read a 5 minute audio file, and the best part is if you touch the platter or do something else, it won't stop like the old CDJ-1000's used to - the waveform will be built after a short re-buffering. All memory and hot cue points are retained on the card. Loading a CD that has been pre-read will recall the waveforms instantly.
The only thing I didn't test was whether it worked over LINK to store all your CDs on one card for both players.
Note that this is only the overview waveform and not the detailed zoomed-in view you would see with a track processed through rekordbox.
got it! well thats not so bad.. worst comes to worst then I will have 2 back up USB analyzed with the same tracks.. you know if the waveforms are building fast enough or if I keep missing my breakdowns and stuff in the set.. thank you very much..
