How to connect DJM 2000NXS & CDJ 2000NXS's HID in RekordboxDJ

After trial and error I finally figured out how to connect my DJM 2000nxs & 2 CDJ2000nxs via HID in RekordboxDJ (Performance Mode). After all drivers were installed... I connected all 3 to my laptop via usb cables. Powered up the mixer and CDJs then open RekordboxDj. In Rekordbox, go into "Preferences" then the "Audio" tab. In the audio drop-down select "DJM 2000 ASIO" then scroll down to "Output Channels". This is the part that was confusing. On the DJM 2000nxs mixer at the top of the channels I am using I had to change the selector switch to "USB3/4 for channel 2 & USB5/6 for channel 3". Now, back to RekordboxDj under "Output Channels", Output Deck 1 (left) select DJM-2000 USB3, then DJM-2000 USB4 for the (right). For Output Deck 2 (left) select DJM-2000 USB5, then DJM-2000 USB6 for the (right). To link the CDJs... Press the "Link" button, you should see "Control Mode & DJM-2000" select "Control Mode" then press selector again to connect. Select the Deck #. This number reflects the decks in RekordboxDj, not the channel number on the mixer. The key is making sure the Deck Output channels match the USB#s on the channels used on the mixer. Hope this helps.

FWIW, I've been testing the v4 software for quite some time and it's really come far since the first beta. There are some users having latency and connection issues, and I recognize that part of that has to do with their computer or configuration as other users with identical hardware are not having the same problems.

Pioneer is working to address the issues and complaints users are reporting, but simply bailing out of the software won't help us improve it. If you are having a problem, please first check the FAQs and if there's no solution, submit an inquiry, we'll be happy to help you solve the problem and improve the software for all users.

Thanks for your patience!

Thats a helpful post thanks for sharing. How are you finding it to use? Is there any lag and whats the display like on the cdj when its in HID mode?

For now I am staying with Rekordbox 3.3.0. It is very reliable and never crashes. I have over 30 crashes report logs for 4.0. With 4.0 I found the latency response to be very slow, the waveforms take a long time to catch up or would not display at all. This was in both export and performance mode. Even loading a track to a deck causes it to hang up and crash. I do like the FX section though but until a DDJ-SP1 is created to support rekordboxdj, you can't get the full potential using CDJs. But with all that said, rekordboxdj is in it's infant stages and there's always bugs to work out. I'm a diehard Pioneer/Rekordbox fan and I'm certain Pioneer will work the bugs out.

Pulse, I didn't mean to sound as if I've completely given up on RB 4.0 because I haven't. I just can't use it for live performances until it's reliable on my computer. I will work with Pioneer by submitting inquiries once I've really tested the software.
