MASTER TEMPO on CDJ850

MASTER TEMPO function on my CDJ850 works bad :
when pitch is about +3% or -3%, sound becomes mettalic (when negative pitch) and some beat are "skipped" (when positive pitch).

Why a modern player has no better sound than older ? CDJ850 has MASTER TEMPO sound like a CDJ 500 !
The only player has good MASTER TEMPO was CDJ 1000 and CDJ 2000.

is a software or hardware function in player ?

The original CDJ 900 also has terrible master tempo. The original CDJ 2000's got a software fix that made it tolerable but just barely. I guess the 850 and 900 models just doesn't have enough hardware power to support a decent master tempo algorithm :(

Sadly , the only advice is to never use the master tempo function, learn to work without it. On the upside, the CDJ 2000 and 900 Nexus master tempo is absolutely awesome.

ok thanks for your answer.
Simply the MT works around hardware solution. It seems that is a clock modulation on final converter stage (digital to analog, I²S sample speed vs analog rendering speed). the first CDJ500 works also like this, the other brand (DENON, NUMARK...) too.
CDJ850, works like this i suppose, it has no digital output. Players with digital output (=constant bitrate) must have software processing, analog output no. it was cheaper to build !

It's maybe not possible to perform it by software ways on CDJ 850 because :
Not enough DSP power to compute complex algorithm ?
Not enough memory embedded ?
