Select your Collection, use the option in rekordbox file menu "Export Collection in xml format", open the xml file in Excel (use file -> Open and accept all the defaults :)
This gives you something to edit in Excel, not the best but its usable :D

Does anyone know what is the easiest way to save my database in Rekordbox as an Excel file?

Is there a reason you want to do that?
So I can upload my music database to DJ Event Planner
Gotcha, was curious! :)
As @Krotos says, the XML method isn't the best option, but it should do what you need with a bit of manipulation.
It doesn't work for me.
I exported as advised above to an xml file and excel imports it but it generates a warning saying "file not loaded completely".
The data is unusable. I then tried to open it with text/edit (I'm using a Mac) and it was also unreadable, and impossible to manipulate.
I simply want a list of tracks with just the fields "Artist" & "Track Title".
I'm not using iTunes with Rekordbox.
Is there no other way of doing this?
Has anyone else tried the "Export Collection in xml format"? has it worked for you?
Here's what you need to do...
- Save the file (XML) from rekordbox.
- Go to this online converter and upload your XML file.
- Profit.
- Just kidding, download the XLSX file it generates for you (it's in a ZIP file, so unzip it first).
- Open the Excel file and go to the COLLECTION tab.
- Now profit!
I've no idea what you're referring to when you say Profit?
Unfortunately this didn't work. The site linked to only works for files smaller than 4mb, my file is 250mb.
The site links to a programme that can be downloaded to convert xml to csv but only for windows. So I got hold of a windows laptop and downloaded it, and then when I tried to use the programme I received the error message "Invalid XML file. Please make sure the xml file is XML-compliant."
I did a google search for other sites for conversion, and had no joy.
So I'm still no nearer being able to save my database an Excel or csv file. :(
lol - sorry, I figured you might get that one, there's a meme for 3 step things (Step 1 - Do something simple. Step 2 - Something else. Step 3 - Profit!)
I had tried Excel myself first, even following instructions for developer's mode, but I had the same issues where it didn't want to read the structure as an XML. I am using a small test database for all the work I do with rekordbox (for simplicity) so I can see why your database is larger, especially if there are many cue and memory points.
I'm sure there is a method to convert it, maybe this one? It supports a zip file upload.
