Hello @jayb hope you can help me out, I owned the cdj 2000 nexus and was thinking of purchasing another pair. I have a feeling though pioneer may come out with new 2000 flagship models sometime this novemberish. I understand you can not tell me or confirm but from your expertise should I wait or purchase thanks for any help or hint and your time.
Then again, the cycle hasn't always been 3 years...
If you need gear now, buy gear now. That's the basic rule you should adhere to as a DJ. If you wait now, you'll always be waiting.

i would wait, they tend to do a 3 year cycle, we are at that time now

@Pulse, Thanks I get what you mean, I owned the cdj 2000 nexus already and was thinking of purchasing another pair but it would suck if a couple months from now a updated model comes along. Just curious what model in the cdj line came out that did not follow the 3 year cycle?

We can't disclose the release or announcement of release of any upcoming gear as it would cut our own legs out from under us -- no users would purchase gear if they knew an announcement was imminent.
If you ask Apple how their phone sales are the month before their new product announcement and I guarantee you they take a dip. They happen to run on a fixed release cycle whereas Pioneer does not. While @BriChi points to a 3 year cycle, that's not consistent and if you're waiting for an announcement for new gear now, you may end up waiting a long time. Consider that if Pioneer announces any new gear, it's typically done around the time of major international trade shows such as NAMM, WMC, DJ Expo, BPM, Musik Messe, etc.
Wait for a couple months, till November i guess, if nothing will be released, buy another pair of nexus. They won't lose their price anyway, you could sale them and lose just a 2-3 hundred $. I am in the same position as you are, but i wait a bit yet (already own 4 nexus).
Yep - they hold value pretty well.
Thanks I agree, I am waiting till December just in case to make a decision. Just an idea but how cool would it be for the next cdj to not only have more hot cues but also light up pads like on the djm s9 on the bottom of the plater for hitting samples and slicing loops on the fly and remixing tools ect.. Whenever it comes out hopefully it caters towards on the fly remixing and editing.
Was expecting a release myself but from what pulse said and another Pioneer rep at bpm probably will be next year the controllers are getting priority at the moment .
